Oh Lord thanks for sending such a great preacher I have to say...Rex Humbard was a great teacher back in those days..this is a classic, a true American like Ronald Reagon and John Wayne, He saved many souls lost, trouble, sorrow and in tears and shame, God Bless America, keep us strong everyday, dont let our liberty and freedom be taken away..protect us from the enemies I pray..we need to read our bibles and worship today. Roll up your sleeves and battle for Jesus when the enemy come your way.
If you could talk to the hate monger hitler today, this would be a different world, for he would tell of what he is going through and tell all who think of him as a hero to give your heart of hate to God almighty, while you can.John 3:16
As a cradle Catholic growing up at this time, I found myself tuning in to Rex Humbard. Considering the Swaggarts, Jim Bakkers, Peter Popoffs, Robert Tiltons-I'd always considered Humbard a cut above & gleaned good things from his sermons. However, Jesus talked face-to-face to Simon, personally changed his name to "Cephas," (Rock) and said "Upon THIS Rock" I shall build my Church." Why not take Jesus at His word? He told Peter to "Feed My Sheep." He didn't say build my Church(es), but Church.
As a Cradle Catholic growing up in this era, I can honestly say that Rex Humbard seemed a cut above the Swaggarts, Tiltons, Jim Bakkers, etc....and I from time to time watched his sermons. I gleaned alot from them. I wondered what happened to him, but understand he passed. However, Christ, face-to-face renamed Simon to Cephas, "Rock", and DID say that upon Peter (NOT his confession), that His Church would be built. For 1500 yrs. Christendom took Jesus at His word. Luther changed that-WRONGLY!
I agree with Brother and Sister Gibson and i miss Pastor Humbard myself. He did a great work in building the beautiful Cathedral of Tomorrow church and he was a pioneer in bringing the gospel of Christ to television, along with Billy Graham,Oral Roberts,Jerry Falwell,Jimmy Swaggart, and Vander Warner Jr who's the retired pastor of Grove Avenue Baptist in Richmond,Va.
As a matter of fact,Pastor Humbard used to visit with Presley's family because they were good friends and Pastor Humbard is my favorite televangelist also.He did a great job in building the beautiful Cathedral of Tomorrow church, which he pastored for over 30 years and i used to love it when he would hold outdoor crusades in South America.
This sermon is a powerful expression of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Humbard also has a firm grasp of eschatology (end-times doctrine). This quality and content of ministry is sorely needed today. Lets go back to the future!

This episode is from 1973 to 1975, and the hairstyles, clothing, and graphics make that VERY CLEAR.

"If Jesus was preaching today, he would never get into (right wing) politics".
Rev Humbard's answer as to why he did not join the right wing televangelist movement.
A true Servant.
RIP
