  • He seems to be a good controller. Any body can have a bad day ...

  • ROTFL! " Jesus JetBlue" !!

  • Jet Blue is fucking everything up

  • i love this. superb.

  • lol, I tried following all this with a blown up copy of the JFK taxiway grid on wikipedia and MAN, talk about confusing. So many tiny little taxiways. I wish someone would animate everything that was going on. Was 13L basically just being used as a taxiway during all this mess? It sounded like the main points of congestion was where victor and bravo come together, as well as where bravo and echo come together.

  • @gobo760 Uh, well that's farther then I got... When he says "go around the horn", is that just a figure of speech, or what?

  • Is it common for controllers to have minor errors in their directions and the pilots to just fill in the blanks for what they assumed the controller meant? For example, at 0:15 the controller tells the jet holding on Kilo to go left on alpha and hold short of echo... but to get to echo, you need to go right, not left. Then at 3:06, he tells the jet on (i think) Bravo to "go right on victor, right on 13L, and hold short of Zulu-Echo. There's no Zulu-Echo on my map. Did he mean Echo?

  • Bravo short of Victor seems to have alot of Traffic!!

    DAL929, DAL1867, AAL1639, SIA025, JBU707, ACA1121, JBU035, JBU144, AZA611, JBU179, JBU97, AAL004.

  • @Concorde847 Bravo short Victor is the threshold I believe (the piano keys) but larger planes like Iberia, and Alitalia, need the run up space provided from entering at Uniform.

  • nice burp at 2:30

  • I listened to JFK control live while on board a plane years ago and I was shocked at how rude they were to the pilots.

  • I cant wait to be an airline pilot and run into a problem like this! Great job by this controller!

  • "Your unable to do everything, Sir. That plane of yours sir..." lol

  • Is this the same Controller who brought his kids into the JFK tower and got suspended for letting them direct planes??

  • No, I think that was a different guy, but as I've heard, Arnie's not working on JFK anymore either, for unknown reasons. @Concorde847

  • @Susu986 Arnie got fired from both JFK and LGA and is, as of now, a tower controller at ISP.

  • @JumpStartation Pity that ISP is not covered by liveatc net :)

  • @Susu986 I wish... ha ha. I know a guy that fly's out of ISP and he's been controller by him once.

  • Delta 1874, this probably screws you up two.

  • I'm a pilot here in Northern California and I flew into Stockton this morning and the tower controller stumbled over his NY accent trying to say my tail number. The controller sounds EXACTLY, dead on like this guy. I asked him if he was from the East Coast instead of asking "didn't I hear you on YouTube." He said he was from Syracuse, NY. I am pretty sure that the tower controller at Stockton is this ground controller from JFK. Fly into Stockton during the later part of the week to hear him.

  • This ATC Patrick Harten? The same ATC for Mircale on Hudson, US Flight 1549?

  • @delgates23 hell no !!

  • This video right here is hilarious. Im a student pilot myself and sometimes flying into big airports can be a nightmare. Yo Big up to that ground controller for fixing the mess on the ground there. He knows his shit word up. Anyways funny audio beware other student pilots listen to this and never be too cocky at your first big airport.

  • 10* love this audio, great insight into the dance that ground controllers have to orchestrate at an airport of this scale!

  • haha turn on the cc

  • I love how he transmits his sighing.

  • @Ci3lag0 Yes, very unprofessional and a complete waste of energy. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the .... Maybe he should be clearance delivery on a permanent basis.

  • @xxtwr1 Love that hed be good in clearence !

  • @xxtwr1 do his job for 5 minutes on a busy day and you'll end up crying for you mummy!

  • Can anyone understand what Air France 011 is saying at 2:21-2:24?

  • Delta 929: Okay, we're at Bravo, short of Victor.

Ground: Yeah. Right. Who's Bravo short of Victor?

    Talk about a busy day!

  • They moved him to some other less heavy airport....

  • ping ping ping !!! he needs to calm down...

  • I love this controller !! so bad he is not working on JFK anymore :(( I remember one day I was spotting and heard on scanner when he is asking JB how long will be flight and said: Thanks good u are so slow cuz my mother in law is on this plane I wanna make sure she will miss doctors appointment...

  • Did he retire or did he go off to another airport? He is my favourite controller of all time!

  • @mattcoughran

  • this is great *****

  • one of the best ATCs on the internet lol

  • I love this guy, anyone know how I can find some more recordings of him???

  • nope not vatsim

  • this is great!!!

I love it! He has so much to handle :D

  • Comment removed

  • THAT WAS GREAT!!! VERY VERY FUNNY

  • This guy is now manning the tower at KISP.

  • ATC: Delta929, just follow the Hawker.

D929: Ok, well, the Hawkers two planes in front of us.

    ATC: Great.

    lol

  • "you guys should come up here one day, you'd enjoy the show".... wins.... lol

  • Tons of hilarious bits but I think the "You are unable to do everything sir" wins

  • I'd LOVE to be an Air Traffic Controller. It's a nutty job but, if you can keep that pic in your head, you're made for a job like that.

  • 06:57

"I told you go where you are?"

    This guy cracks me up!

  • "and you are where doing what short of who?" RRROOOOFFLLLLL

this dude is AWESOME... he didn't give-up

I wish if there was a video

  • We'll visit you at the duty free!

  • UK Aviation Regulations are the world most terrible aviation regulations. They are complete nonsense and are disastrous.

  • @clarkeyboi92 Totally disagree with your remark on his being unprofessional. He used a little humor to get the process straight again. Very well done!!!

  • 15 minutes on....30 minutes off

  • "Who was that?"

    "JetBlue 707"

"OK and you're where doing what short of who?"

  • Comment removed

  • Ground radar? Theres a thought!

  • The ground radar in the towers are useless, but they are coming out with a new and improved one

  • SMR...surface movement radar...

  • 8:15 roflmao! wish my job was as fun xD

  • 7:06 - "You guys should come up here one day. You didn't enjoy it. You didn't enjoy the show." LOL

  • Actually, it's "You'd enjoy it. You'd enjoy the show." :)

  • OMG! Somebody please try to do animation of this, I wanna see how this mess happened. This ATC is a trip---I love em!

  • this guy is a joke.

  • that happens every day on our ramp...:-D

  • The Airbus A340-600 is the longest plane in the world, so it is hard for the Iberia to do anything.

  • Oh god, in that situation, I would shat myself.

  • " You can't just do that you can't just do that" ahahahahahahaha

  • lol sadly this is almost normal for JFK( ALMOST lol )

  • "You're unable to do everything sir, in that plane of yours sir" Haha, so classic.

  • i have played this recording somewhere around 100 times, i love it

  • Haha Me 2

  • A real mess, but a so good job from the ATC !

  • Just a normal day at JFK.

  • HAHA....total entertainment, but total mess for him. I likes how he was laughing to drop his stress...Bravo to him. Jesus Jet Blue..they are all over the runway ..."I will put you somewhere"...hahahahaha

  • This is a great video!! Thanks

  • Wow!

  • What a mess! Great job by controller!

  • @Zoxxxon bahaha

  • "You guys should come up here one day, you'd enjoy the show" lololol

  • @jk6113 I never wasted my breath or energy on "How it happened, just on getting it straight" Unless a pilot was dangerous to the flow, just correct what it is and resume building the picture. I believe the change came after the mass firings by Reagan.

  • haha jetblue always the airline messing up the airport

  • really??? how they mess?

  • The controller did a great job nevertheless.

  • "Now I'm all screwed up!" "You're unable to do everything sir with that plane of yours sir!" LOL

  • this conroller is amazing how he managers to do this i guess i'll never know

  • This controller, is he the same guy who was on the tape with the USAIR flight that splashed down into the Hudson, voice sure sounds like his.

  • I doubt, this guy is a ground controller at JFK. The controller who was controlling the USair flight was a tower controller at LGA

  • Well, every controller doesnt only controll one positions his while day. If he is rated for GND, he is rated for TWR.

  • yeah good point

  • No he was in the Tracon, not tower at LGA.

  • Yap...he was in the Tracon. He later called the tower to inform them about US Airways Flight 1549.

  • yeah, wasnt that NY dep?

  • This in Ground

  • Ernie rocks

  • I'm very impressed, as a layman, by the level of this guy's concentration - I'm sure I couldn't do this even with a million hours of training - makes me feel safer with guys like this in charge... !

  • This ATC has said it himself, he's "screwed up". He seems confused where his planes are. But one thing good about him is that he's still pleasing despite the pressure his having. Good job bro!

  • Ah... this was awesome! controller is awesome 2 =)

  • Hahaha... Stressed guy! =)

  • Amazing. this guy is phenomenal

  • These guys must be the best of the best.

  • he holds his PTT button down too much when he's thinking and mumbling to himself

  • lol get an interpert

  • Damn!!! Give this controller a coupon for Duty Free!!!

  • this is soo funny im going to be a atc soon

  • no wonder these guys are payed more than

    130'000 a year...

  • lol "your enable to do anything with that plane of yours"

  • hahahahah that was the best part!! Airbus

    A346! what a useless airplane!

"your Unable to do anything with that plane of yours sir"

  • You're unable... not "your enable."

  • I've always said that ground controllers have the toughest job in the tower.

  • at JFK, I would say approach is the most intense head acheing job

  • lmao. This is awesome. I listen to ATC *every* time I fly into or out of JFK for this very reason; it's always entertaining. :)

  • I should have added that it was funny while he was cleaning up the mess but *MAGIC* after that.

  • This is a great clip. Very funny while he gets the mess sorted. "...and you're where, and your doing what, short of who?"

  • hahah "somebody didn't do something right!" excellent.

  • damned scary - and it's forcast to get worse in the years to come due to increased traffic and antique equipment, facilities... glad i don't fly but rarely!!

  • the only way JFK will close if it gets nuked

  • Are u guys kiddin' or? This is an amizing performance by a very skilled controller. Its not his fault if somebody taxies out of sequense, because the don't understand their instructions. And what's this S*** about his temperement? He remains very calm, and he actually manage to stay positive during the entire "action". Guys, you really shouldn't comment on his performance if you don't know what you are talking about. Awsome job! Thumps up!

  • Ditto on that, Timo. A clusterfuck of the highest order at one of the busiest airports in the country! I don't have a problem with this controller at all! Despite the cluster of out-of-sequence airplanes, the controller stays relatively calm, stays in control, and keeps it moving!

  • This sounds just like a taxi dispatcher dealing with idiot drivers. No wonder that Danny Sullivan quit driving a taxi in New York and decided to race at Indy. Remember that 360 degree circle that Danny did in the middle of the track and kept on going to win the Indy 500?? He learned how to drive in NYC, home of 1,000 tongues...lol

  • I`m glad he doesn`t work New York Center because if this takes energy try keeping planes in the air in control!

  • We will meet you at the duty free

    LOL

  • 2.12 - were no2 on Bravo short of Victor.

And now im all screwed up! Jesus!LOLOLOL well at least he didn't lost his concentration...

  • omg! That atc controller seems to be quite stressed, and his temperement is high! Really nice upload, and it sounds like his ain't got any control of what his doing. thanks for this! beatiful! 5/5 ;)

  • sounds controlled to me in a stressful situation. no control? are you a moron?

  • i would like to know what this guy is on, i would love to hear him

  • new yorks controllers are just the best...^^

  • You're unable to do everything that plane of yours, sir!

  • Gotta love JFK. Only in New York.

  • JESUS, JETBLUE *burp*

  • and to think u gotta deal with this after a 15 hour flight

  • where do you get those maps? whit jepp view?

  • Someone can record this when playing FSX

  • that should be on a radio show! this guy is a freakin rock star........

  • LMAO, holy crap i thought my job was stressful. I bet this guy takes some well deserved vacations.

  • It's Great to see how they handle Traffic across rhe Atlantic. Its so different to the UK. I control EGGW_TWR and ussed to control EGCC_GND. I have never had this much traffic at any of those airports. This is a great controller.

  • This guy's doing a good job even on a bad day -- he's probably got 60 planes sitting somewhere around the airport waiting for directions, probably 20 of which are all JetBlue E-170s, so he can't really look at the field and always know who's who immediately. He's tempermental, but he does his job.

  • I'm sorry, E-190s. So my memory was off on the exact aircraft type, but the point still stands.

  • Ya Now I'm all screwed up.. Jesus Jetblue

  • You guys are excellent controllers, keep it up.

  • I'll second that! This controller actually kept his cool and even injected a bit of humor when he completely lost the sequence. As a pilot, I would have been chuckling just listening to all of this. It beats having a stressed out controller snapping at us!

  • ive had some nasty controllers it is nice to see

  • @nyisle79 Sorry to hear you've had to endure nasty controllers, that's not right

  • @aviatorchick1 You guys don't deserve to be snapped at.

  • that's difficult to do 50 differend things at the same time...

  • yes - there were one or two instances where his exasperation should not have been xmited...but overall, pretty professional at the busiest freakin' airport in the world.

  • JFn'K...

  • I have to post again, I've received many requests for it and I wish I could delete my old posts...but unfortunately, I can't.

FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THIS ATC AVAILABLE:

    (remove the []s).

  • jfk is the only airport i've ever flown on where the captain announced "we are currently 60th in line for departure"

  • Wow! 60th? I was 8th in line at Heathrow once and even that took us 15 minutes to get into position and take off. Imagine being 60th, that's a freakin 2+ hours in line. How boring was that? And why didn't they use another runway?

  • Runways are determined by surface winds and upper winds, tail winds then the opposing runway is used as it becomes hard to land on tail winds ;-)

  • What I mean by the other runway is... See, JFK has 2 sets of parallel runways. They should've distributed the traffic to the other parallel runway.

  • You have arriving and departing runways though, so 1 is departing the other is landing

  • Mixed runway use works better though, at least I think so.

  • You can't "mix" runways, there is a set parameter of runway selection made with noise abatement, winds, upper winds etc, mixing runways gives you a crash and a taxiway mix up- simple logic and I am an ATC :)

  • wrong heavy traffic volumes causes landing and takeoff on the same runwayys. their is just different climb and landing patterns. popular ones are the breezy point and I think Kinarsy climb patterns

  • Hey vladusa2003 do you have any more of these? I am subscribing just encase you do.

  • this is awesome lol I feel bad for this guy hehe

  • its always like that in that shit hole.

  • GND: Great. DAL1869, you're behind the Hawker?

    DAL1869: Correct.

GND: JBU1069, you gotta just do what I ask, sir. DAL929, follow the 7-5.

DAL929: We can do that, behind the 7-5, DAL929.

GND: DAL1867, this probably screws you up, too. Where are you right now?

DAL1867: Yes sir, we're number two, on Bravo short of Victor.

GND: DAL929, you were on Bravo short of Victor.

    DAL929: That's affirmative, sir.

    GND: [squelched] -JetBlue hangars?

GND: Okay, now I'm all screwed up. Jesus, JetBlue!

  • He has a tough, demanding and important job. He's entitled since he's the one who has to maintain control over the pilots and keep track of what the tower is doing. He saves lives, which is a million times more imporant than your janitorial job at Carl's Jr.

  • Thanks for telling drewsiu whats what bryghtwines.

  • GND: Somebody didn't do something right. JBU1069?

JBU1069: Yeah, we were sitting there waiting for the uh, Delta, and then uh, Delta said he was waiting for the uh, corporate, so uh, we continued on, and then uh, corporate followed us and then Delta was gonna follow corporate.

GND: Well, you can't just do....you can't do that, alright, see, this takes so much energy, guys, alright. DAL929, jeez, hang on a second, guys.

DAL929: Okay, we're at Bravo, short of Victor.

    GND: Yeah, right.

  • Nice job by the controller, kept his calm ans found a solution.

    I liked the A340-600 Comment
