  • Has he reported every gift he's ever received?

  • what a fucking douche

  • Wait, let me get this right, has the Sen Coleman reported every gift he has received?

    Franken '08

  • This is why I'm voting for Franken. Coleman is superior, smug, unresponsive to the voters, and uninterested in what we think about him. Plus, obviously wants to do whatever he wants and thinks we shouldn't care. Rude and arrogant.

  • Wow! You just can't get more weasel like than that!

  • is this a skit on SNL???

  • i wonder if the senator has reported every gift he has ever received, because this fellow is a little vague on this

  • The country's sinking oh so bad

Are you American or are you red?

    Don't worry be happy

  • Its this lack of disclosure and transparency that gave us the "shadow banking" industry that is slowly burying this country alive. With its hidden world of credit swaps and the like. We need to eradicate this type of obfuscation from both our political and business lives if we're to survive. We need to call out these sob's every time they try to get away with it.

  • That non-answer is completely unacceptable. It's about time the press started expecting an answer to the question that was asked. It's time for blunt questions and real answers. If the politician does not feel he has to answer it. He should resign.

That little phrase the spokesman repeated over and over can be translated as "I have nothing but contempt for my constituents, I owe them nothing".

  • What a whore he is.

  • aaaaaawkwaaaard

  • He sure didn't report it when he received the...oh...wait a minute... He has reported every gift he ever received.

  • Maybe I missed something here. Has the senator reported every gift he has ever received?

  • BAHHAhahhahahahahhah

  • this guy needs to be fired....this is pathetic

  • What an idiot! No wonder Coleman is floundering

  • LoL... What a tool this guy is!!

  • This is an embarrassment!!!!

    GET COLEMAN OUT!!!

Al Franken, I've read about him, I've listened to him for years on the radio, he's a brilliant man who care DEEPLY about our country!! He is a GREAT AMERICAN...with a sense of humor instead of ANGER like McCain. Let's have some REAL CHANGE in Washington. Let's get Coleman OUT and Franken In.

I don't live in MN and I've been donating regularly to Franken.

    YES!!! WE!!! CAN!!!

  • The senator enjoyed every cock he ever received

  • Sticking to the points a little too much. Quite embarrassing. Now he's the laughing stock of the Minnesota political world.

  • Coleman should have been the laughing stock of Minnesota long before this. He has a miserable record. He should be joined in the unemployment lines by Michelle Bauchman. Another failed GOP genetic experiment.

  • The senator reported every gift he ever received

  • Well, with the undervalued apartment deal reported in National Journal(nice location near the capitol btw), and these "gift suits" Coleman definitely has a few ethics problems right now. If he knew he was "innocent" of this charge obviously his staff would just say that. The staff's non-answer here shows that either he is in direct violation of ethics rules or, more likely, that they aren't really sure and are trying to hedge just in case.

Where is this press conference taking place?

  • Damn it folks, he has reported every gift he has ever received!!

  • This Coleman guy needs TO BE BOOTED OUT OF CONGRESS!

  • let me just take a wild guess on this one.

    norm coleman is a republican?

"do not ask us questions do not ask questions"

    lol

  • what the fuck was the purpose of this press meeting? they could have put a parrot up there that could have done a better job than this idiot.

    what a fucking snake.

  • This guy needs a new press secretary. Dana Perino would at least switch the wording up.

  • GO REPoRTERS!

  • Sorry, this isn't news.

  • It certainly is. The suits aren't the point. The point is that a Senator seeking re-election has been accused of an ethical impropriety, and instead of speaking directly to this issue, he hides behind a smirking teenager with strict talking points. This is certainly not senatorial, and it remains to be seen whether any illegality is involved.

  • this is news.his political contributors have paid for an array of Coleman's basic expenses, including his rent, his utility bills, his trips to the Bahamas, and -- in the latest revelation -- even his clothes.

  • This guy is a bigger idiot than Tucker Bounds

  • This guy is a bigger idiot than Tucker Bounds

  • If you're lying please state that the senator has reported every gift hes ever received.

  • Polly want a cracker?

  • Good! Next these reporters need to start hounding celebrities and making them answer how many free gift baskets they recieve at award shows.

  • Celebrities don't make the policy that you have to abide by buddy. Let's leave them out of the equation.

  • Only if they run for office.

  • I mean does it look bad, not being willing to just say "no he didn't get given suits?" Well yeah, it looks bad.

Is he obligated to answer these questions if he doesn't want to? No.

Clearly a calculation was made and this is the path of least damage, even if it looks silly.

  • this is a silly video and these are silly questions.

I don't even know who these people are talking about, but the spokesidiot is probably correct. What he's saying (in essence)

    1. Everything that rises to the level of gift that has to be reported, has been reported, you can probably look it all up online.

    2. Anything below that threshhold doesn't have to be reported, and is therefore nobody's business, especially since someone's trying to hurt my candidate by stirring something up.

  • I got it! He's the guy who's writing Sarah Palin's talking points!

  • You nailed it!

  • *yawn*

  • "He's recorded every gift he has ever recieved."

I bet you there wil be a song made of this soon.

  • Why the hell would you want this guy's job? You just get bitch slapped in public.

  • could not stop laughing

  • His answer should be, Thank you bloggers but your answer is in another castle!

  • i would hate to have his job..covering up for crooked politicians...people will do antyhing for money

  • Add a live audience and that's not a bad SNL sketch.

  • They need to check the report and the source instead of wasting this poor guy's time. Do their own homework instead of pressing him for fodder to feed their mudslinging.

  • I assume you did your homework and know that they didn't do their homework? It's their job to ask questions once they've done the research - if they didn't ask these questions, they'd be rightly shot down for not offering the opportunity to respond. Journalism 101.

  • It's obvious they didn't check the ethics commission report, because they keep asking him IF the suits are in there, not why they aren't. So you're right, it's their job to ask these questions AFTER doing their research. Also, the original article's sources and says the suits might have been purchased before Coleman joined the senate in 2003.

Chasing a story without checking the sources? Still bad journalism. Go back to school.

  • Yes, asking questions is SUCH bad journalism. Where did you say your bastion of fact finding was?

One must assume that your gain 'facts' from Fox News.

One must also assume that asking many, many questions and getting exactly the same robot response, is good PR! You do realize that's the point of this clip? To show the quality PR Republicans have to use now that actual questions are being asked of their behavior?

"Back to school"? NICE. Such INTEGRITY.

  • How can you be an objective viewer, when you don't even view?

    You're talking absolute rubbish.

Oh, yes - you're VERY objective!

  • Actually he gave the same answer verbatim to five or six different 'yes or no' questions

  • These are not the droids you are looking for...

  • LOL

    best comment ever

  • hilarity. thanks for the video.

  • It's like he's trying a Jedi mind trick, like any second the reporters will just start mumbling "He has reported every gift he has ever received... He has reported...."

  • O_O Holy shit.

  • This is pretty funny. LOL!

Why can't he just say he doesn't know if Coleman has received a gift of suits? How hard is that?

  • I can see him on a SENATE ETHICS HEARING:

"I have no clear recollection of that Senator."

"I have no clear recollection of that Senator."

"I have no clear recollection of that Senator."

"I have no clear recollection of that Senator."

    :::Repeat ad nauseam:::

  • who is this guy and why we are supposed to care about his suits...

  • Let me guess, you're not from Minnesota.

  • lol thank you

  • The jew Coleman getting gifts from Muslim?

I say its good for Muslim-jew relation.

Christians can go to hell :)

  • screw you

  • lol

  • Demon.... I agree. This has to be one of the most hilarious and ridiculous exchange of words I have ver encountered. I giggle as I cry. Is it possible that this actually happens and the average person isn't screaming?!?!? I think it's really funny that after he hesitates, and then says the Senator has done nothing wrong and giggles himself.

  • BABA GANOOOOSH

  • BABA GANOOSH

  • Al Franken is challenging him

  • Current Senator Coleman is in a tight race to keep his seat. This is about him being corrupt and getting gifts.

  • will it blend?

  • Talking to a brick is more worthwhile...

  • Almost comedic, but then I realized it wasn't satire.

  • TRANSPARENCY

  • Norm Coleman is the chode that took Paul Wellstone's seat. Hope that corrupt hate mongering toad gets kicked out of office.

  • People like this should be shot. Its why people hate politicians.

  • So. has he received every gift he has declared? :D

Gods I would hate to be a reporter. The urge to go Stone Cold Steve Austin on those twats would be overwhelming.

And that would be a Bi-Partisan urge by the way.

  • ... but will it blend?

  • Has the senator has reported every gift he's ever recieved?

  • AHAHA! he says it as though its SO obvious. i mean, come on you guys, HE REPORTS EVERY GIFT HE EVER RECEIVES. why is this SO difficult?

  • Keep your imaginary friend to yourself please.

  • Transparency

  • Do you think this guy has reported ALL of his gifts?

  • Coleman is the biggest hypocrite douche bag in Washington. He's been taking kick backs and bribes for years and is finally being called out on it.

It's about time the press starting questioning this shit.

Come on Minnesota! Vote this ass clown out of office!

  • fuck you ALL

    audio preview that, bitch!

  • Wow, this McCainbot is badly in need of repair.

  • That's dumb. I suppose now you'll hex me. LOL!

  • Damn! I love the sound of reporters doing their jobs.

  • Lol, now this issue is never going to go away! This could cost him his re-election to Al-Franken

  • I smell a TV ad here...

  • Umm, I'm an Obama supporter but I don't understand what's wrong with receiving free suits. Maybe hey were trying to advertise the suits or something, I dont know but I think there are far more important questions they couldve asked other than did McCain receive a few free suits or not.

  • I think you're mistaken odp. This is regarding MN Sen. Norm Coleman.... don'tcha know, you betcha...

  • Oh, ok, gotcha!

  • I can't help but feel bad for the guy. Imagine what it must be like to have to go out and represent a fucking scumbag. He's gotta be thinking to himself, "Just tell them where you got the suits, Norm. For fuck sake!"

  • more likely he is thinking about the lines of coke waiting for him and the hooker he is going to bang later.

  • Wow! The voters back home sure need to see this on the evening news.

  • wow, that is brutal --

this should be case study for every politician and spokesman on how NOT to handle a situation like this.

  • broken tape recorder

  • Can I please get paid to repeat myself and not answer questions? I'd be great at it.

I wonder how much a professional douche makes per year?

  • As a flack or a Vice President?

  • wow that is so frustrating.

  • Unbelievable. This stonewalling is making it sound much worse than whatever the truth might be.

  • this is freakin hilarous!!!!! this guy is an ass!!!

  • Yeah! This guy just repeats himself, awesome.

  • He should work for the White House.

    Professional bullshitter. Amazing.

  • I have no doubt that we will see this clip on the daily show soon, it's almost montypythonesque.

  • So he's insisting on not responding to bloggers? Why would he? They're just the lowly people.

  • That guy has a tough job.

  • Yeah. He keeps a straight face and doesn't answer the question.

He's like Palin without the perkiness.

  • Poor guy. I would quit after this.

  • Are you kidding? This guy will probably be president some day with how our culture is "evolving".

  • "the senator has reported every gift that he has recieved"

  • Basically a three-minute loop of that.

  • lying motherfucker

  • That guy needs to be strapped down to a polygraph machine.

  • Nah, they have body imaging cameras that are way more accurate (going to put them in public places and mark angry and anxious people as potential terrorists, btw). Reporters ought to get a hold of one actually, it would certainly put a spin on the news.

  • when did harpers magazine become a blog?

christ, its bloggers that force the msm to ask real questions

god, i hope coleman goes down

  • why r u even havin a press conferance if u dont wanna answer anything. It s not a talent to avoid a question like that, coz now I guess we all know that sen whoever got the free suits, and that u r little liar

  • These are not the droids you are looking for.

And the Senator has disclosed everything he needs to disclose.

  • which senator are they talking about?

  • I got to give it to him. He did a great job.

  • Another message brought to you by the Ministry of Truth. Welcome to the United States of Oceania.

  • look at the guy he has to defend...id say he did pretty well for having a shit job.

  • sssshhhhhhhhaaaaaaadddddddyyyyyyyy

  • give the guy an A for avoiding the question

  • The flack needs to be fired...

... and, his boss needs to NOT be elected President.

  • His boss is Senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota, a run-of-the-mill, corrupt, George W. Republican who is trying to get re-elected for a second term. I'd love to see Coleman lose to comedian Al Franken, his Democratic opponent.

  • Ooops. I'm a dummy and had made a WRONG connection that this had something to do with McCain. Mea culpa. The flack STILL needs firing.

Potentially losing to Al Franken is the best laugh ever.

  • How many gifts has the senator reported?

  • Surely every one he's ever recieved.

  • What a monkey-puppet! Pull the string in the back and he will repeat one of 3 approved responses.

  • omg
