  • Hi,

When you say "to keep gliding time even at high speed", do you mean keeping the same gliding time as in a lower speed?

    Thanks

  • Beautiful ¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Hi! Shinji,I'm your fan.

I always learn your swim style from videos(freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke).

Your backstroke style only in the video-Back Balance Head Position for Freestyle and Backstroke,0:21~0:30.

Could you share your backstroke video?

  • Hey Shinji, i have never seen anybody swim so relaxed and easy. Thank you so much for posting this video.

  • Thank you so much for posting these! Wish you guys were in my area.

  • Thank you for posting these videos. Question: What tempo would you keep for an open water 1500? Is this determined more from your current level of conditioning, or is there an opitimal tempo range (ie, between a 1.4 and 1.6)based on that distance?

  • It would be 1.2 for comfortable swimming, and 0.95-1.0 for races for me.

  • Excellent. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and for posting these videos.

  • Hi Shinji, thanks for posting more videos.

I wonder if you could translate the comments from Japanese to English? They seem important.

    Thanks.

    Jeff

  • Jeff,

I added English subtitle as captions. Please check it.

  • Hey Shinji, thanks for posting this videos.

    Always glad to see them!

Wanna ask you a question if you could recomend some TI drills from "freestyle made easy" for improving balance. I somehow lost my feeling for balance in the water and i'm having hard times recovering it.

    Cheers!

  • If you have troubles with skating drill, try "superman glide"- prone balance first. Extend your arms shoulder apart, kick on the floor then do small flatter kick. Press the water with your chest. If you feel comfortable, pull your arm and extend your leading hand so that your body rolls for skating position. This drill is in the new "Easy Freestyle" DVD.
