His skating will improve, as well as his defense. Shooting is one thing that is near impossible to improve, and he's a natural at it.

I have to be honest I llve in london and saw him play for the knights. Great point etc. but a lack of intesity that crosby had in the memorial cup when he was that young. I ope he does very well though but tis to early to tink he can compare to the names you mentioned.

Tavares, although absolutely amazing with the puck, is being outskated by TEENAGERS on a GAME-TO-GAME BASIS.
Hedman has proven himself as a shutdown defenceman against men.
And the only argument for Tavares is "zomfg hedman suked at wjc"...Hedman was injured and still did his job. Tavares did nothing to prove his case to get taken 1st overall.

but in practice its a hard thing to do with line changes, powerplays and what not. i find the term shutdown to be overkill. an nfl cornerback covering a receiver for every second of the game, now thats a shutdown.
and finally, i doubt they used hedman like that anyway, it would just be dumb. such a task is meant for a guy like carbonneau or something.

No, he never. The WJC was even when they knew that Tavares was better than Hedman. Hedman showed no sign of leading the Sweden team, he was not noticed at all and thats when and why Tavares was marked #1 on the scouting list. Although, I am too iffy on Tavares. He's a very poor skater, and I would be a lot more comfortable with Duchene.

So what we had an arena FULL of Canadians chanting "GO CANADA GO" you're players can't take it? The Russians managed to handle it quite well, and you beat Russia, remember? So why can't you're AMAZING Swedish players handle it? Guess they're not as good as your making them out to be.
