Yeah, I also saw this at Hyper. I wish it wouldn't end so quick( and Alex not developing into revenge obsessed machine at the end). They could make LE: Sunadokei no Tabibito anime not this shitty LE: Fam Fam Fam Fam Fam. Only good point in it is Dio, Silvana and its crew and adorable Alvis. Everything else sucks, like gigantic amounts of shitty CG air battles. Gonna watch the original once again.

@xBananowyJEx You missed the point to Alex. He was always revenge obsessed (though not quite a machine, he had some abstract feelings for the others). He was pretty much walking dead whose sole purpose for existing was avenging Euris death, Once that was achieved, there was nothing left but to rejoin his beloved whereever she was. As to the song, it was so good I bought the album soley for the OP, and it was well worth it.

In the first episode we're introduced to the fact that in the show's universe war is highly regulated according to certain laws of martial combat and presided over by a governing body (The Guild). If those laws dictate a deck for marines to fire volleys from then -- practical or not -- the nations will build ships according to regulation or incur penalties. In short: They build platforms on their ships so that the show creators can show how stupid and pointless war is.

@Jaket2000 Well at the beginning of the story the Anatore fleet commanders are dedicated to the concept of chivalry, and I don't recall Disith having vaanships, therefore they won't use a weapon the enemy doesn't have in the spirit of chivalry. Then its economics, it's probably cheaper to train a squad of riflemen to shoot straight and die, than it is to replace an entire ship. The ships only fly because of the Guild engine sections inside, which will leave the ship to die if the guild wishes.

@Jaket2000 So because of the Guild engine block that they depend on for air travel. they can't just lob shots at one another. There is also probably a standing agreement between Disith and Anatore regarding rules of war; think about an airship that probably has a crew of 120, plus maybe 40 riflemen, Assuming each ship is run by skeleton crew for sake of resources, they probably consider it better to lose 40 riflemen than to lose an entire ship plus crew.

This show was great! It is my favorite animated series to this day. I suppose that some parts are a bit boring but every bit of it is worth watching. Don't just judge it by the opening, it truly is action packed and full of great characters. I hope you will decide to watch this series.

I bought it in regular DVD because when I bought it a couple of years ago, it wasn't avaliabe in BluRay, but I honestly don't know. I know that sometimes when animated things are redone in HD and stuff some of looks change. If you are worried about it, I'd say to go with the regular DVD, but if you aren't too worried then I think BluRay would be fine. Try asking around if anyone has noticed a difference in the two.

At the time when I was 15 or 16 years-old, I didn't know enough about the show to care much for the story when it was on during what use to be G4TV's animed unleashed hour. But now I'm watching the show again with my full attention this time on the Funimation website and I'm really digging it. It's ironic too how I'm watching it on the Funimation website and there are 30-second commercials for Attack of the Show.
