  • When will come the 2012 MacBook air model ????

  • @aer1115 My best guess is late spring, early summer. Check buyersguide (dot) macrumors (dot) com

  • I want to get this computer soon, but should I wait until the next model comes out or do you thing it will be a while? Please Respond!

  • so benchmarks you like are important, but if the benchmark isnt what you want, that one benchmark is wrong? at least you realized at the end that geekbenck know what they are doing

  • PC products are way underpriced.

  • @bertocaster lol

  • Thank you, great vid!

  • Apple products are sooo overpriced.

  • @0xNEVVG3N no they aren't, you cant get any other laptop of the same quality at the same price

  • @Pagra101

Yes they are. I can get a quality PC gaming laptop with a 1.5GB Nvidia GTX560 card, 12GB RAM, latest Intel processor, and the latest features for less than $1000. The MBA has a low end GPU (Intel 3000) and low end hardware so it does not deserve that sum of money, it's too overpriced. I was looking to buy an MBA but I think I'll stick with PCs for now, I hear Macbooks in general (especially the MBA) get overheated just from watching YTflash videos. Bad Engineering from apple.

  • @0xNEVVG3N Yes they are. I don't even money to buy a macbook air for my 16year old son

  • Thanks Blake! I've actually already ordered mine, but this gave me terrific insight into what to expect when the package arrives.

    Great breakdown!!! Much appreciated.

  • Im impressed... was looking for such a review! i was wondering if your in the market for an apple upgrade, i had the old black macbook and looking to get something close to a net-book but without losing a lot of perks of the higher end macbooks! Would you say getting a macbook air 11.6 is as good or if not maybe better than macbook pro 13inch for a uni student always on the go!?

  • @atchiwoko 11 or 13 inch I would suggest the Air.... for someone who probably is just opening and closing apps rather than importing and exporting CS5/iMovie/Final Cut the Macbook Air is always better due to the SSD. If you think you need a better processor for hard core editing then get the 13" pro...

  • well that certainlly was a QUICK disclaimer lol

  • do you think the i7 vs the i7 in 11" macbook air is worth the 135 upgrade? (if tight on budget?)

  • you should realy fix your youtube profile, give it a background etc. It's so grey and sad. Anyway, nice video!

  • What really sucks is cheaping out on the GPU. Like why would they go from a decent video card to an absolutely horrirble gpu. Like wii i7 with one of the worst video cards you could possably have. I think they should look back into the ati cards again. The portable ati cpu/gpu combos post extremly good frame rates in games.

  • This video failed to keep my attention

  • wierd thing is at 6.47 he says to restore u need a web connection, but we wudnt be watching this vid if we didnt lol

  • you should have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more views

  • @friedmanism2 yeah hes spelt air wrong so people dont search for "alr"

  • I just built a Windows 7 machine, I had an AMD CPU before with a 6970 Graphics card, and 8GB of ram, and I got 13FPS in Crysis max. Now I upgraded to the Core i7 2600k 3.4Ghz and 16GB of ram with the same graphics card and now I get 48 FPS in Crysis max. Intel's graphics accelerators are incredible, I just think you have to have an actually graphics card for it to accelerate, and not some crappy on board thing like the macbook airs have. I think you actually need a physical card like the old one

  • @DasBeatz Dude...you idiot, no it's not. It's brand new. 2011

  • Have you noticed any reflection on the screen from the keyboard backlighting?

  • plz tell me, how do u get the money to buy ALLL these apple products because lets face it they arnt cheap.

  • I'm waiting for the review gurl.

  • Excellent video. Thank you!

    peace,

    Tim

  • great comparisons video, comprehensive and very insightful. Now all we need is your full review of the product and off we go, +1

  • @blakecottington

Thanks for the quick response! Under basic web browsing with about 3 applications open as well my numbers under the iNano widget are the following in order from top to bottom:

    34, 57, 32, 31, 40, 46

are these numbers similar to yours?

  • @MrAnandrenga2001 Under the scenario you describe my numbers were 44, 54, 36, 36, 47, 49. I also did a test of 2 1080p QuickTime videos on loop for 15 mins and this was the result: 53, 73, 42, 37, 53, 63. I wouldn't describe either scenario as super hot, and I felt the level of warmth was appropriate and normal in each circumstance.

  • @blakecottington

thanks for doing that test! yeah idk i feel like even touching the keys on my laptop is kind of difficult, as the keys themselves are getting warm (not burning hot but definitely easily noticeable). thanks though!

  • Great video as usual Blake! As for Novabench's graphics score, I'm pretty sure it's right. Intel graphics are awful and always are!

  • @MyRandomReviews Thank you! Yeah I was surprise but I decided to leave that bit in the video because probably a lot of people assume newer computer, better graphics. Guess that's not the case!

  • @blakecottington - Apple didn't really have a choice. The reason why they stayed with C2Duo in the MB, MBA, etc... way after the first Core i series processors where released is because they didn't support graphics chips like the 320M. The graphics chips built into the first gen Core i series processors where much worse than the graphics chips in the second gen ones.

It looks as though the Core i5s such as this one still don't support it, but the new Intel gfx have been deemed "good enough".

  • hey i just got the new 11 inch mac book air (4GB RAM and 128 GB SSD). i was wondering if the new model you own heats up..because mine gets super hot even around the key area. Thanks!

  • @MrAnandrenga2001 Not that I noticed yet. I don't think it even got very warm during the benchmarking. Download the iStat Nano dashboard widget and we can compare temps. Is yours hot all the time or only when you're doing certain things?

  • @MrAnandrenga2001 Since you wrote this comment whats the cooling been like on the mba? I just lost my second laptop in just a couple of years supposedly from overheating and a failed motherboard, I think I wear out laptops quickly so if yours is overheating doing everyday tasks im gonna have to count the mba out

  • why do you buy a lot of macs

  • @jdivina15 fanboy probably

  • @erdal0 - Or maybe he just can. Jealous?

  • @MyRandomReviews of fanboys?

  • @erdal0 calm down

  • @jdivina15 So that I can make YouTube videos!

  • Dude ur amazing

  • @An11inchPenis Dude ur my brother.

  • @2011appletech I will! Thanks for watching!

  • i wasn't expecting to play any extensive games on these but how does the new one stand against the old one on some valve source engine? You should download maybe the free version of tf2 on steam and test them out.

  • @TheTony2313 I don't have a Steam account, byt maybe it's time! Thanks for watching!

  • Where was the food break?!?!

  • @leighpollak Very sorry! It was too late to go to the store and there was nothing in the house that was featured food-worthy. Nearly ordered some pizza! Anything you'd like to see? I have access to Kroger, Miejer, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS...

  • Another awesome video Blake! Thumbs up and enjoy Your new toy ;)

  • @LaczupakabraPL Thanks Czup!
