  • this is too cool! i am inspired to push ahead and get better with the meteor thanks for posting!

my boyfriend has his meteor video up on our account this one (fleevatoot) check it out he done good!

    big ups!!

  • i just started meteor. how long is the meteor rope should be?

  • Great tutorial. Thx! X

  • im just starting with poi, but i've been playing with astrojax for almost 10 years, and these techniques are EXTREMELY helpful. thanks, nick!

  • yea its fun until you damage the family jewles XD

  • Great, thanks!

  • You look cute with the hat, and unshaven works for you. I bet you'd look hot with short hair :) Oh and I love the meteor thing! Gotta make me one of those!! Have you ever played with astrojax? You'd be awesome with them!!! I've been checkin them out and have to get some! Your life looks like fun!!!!! Are you a Burner?

  • @threetoedotter I'm lost... Did you watch the clip because of him or the meteors?

  • iif anyone trying to learn was in a colorguard the first one is like a whirlygig and the second like a butterfly

  • it looks so easy ... but it isn't!

BUT you are a very good teacher!

    thanks for your lessons!

  • im using nylon rope as my loop and string for my poi i can join the two by the loops but when i just hang them down they twist with eachother

  • i love how the video is lagging just a bit if you look at the string you can see what pattern it makes it's awesome nick thanks

  • You are SO cool <3

  • very helpful, i need to shrink my meteor poi its like 2 times that size. thanks a lot.

  • jajaja esta bato esta bien fumado pero te da unos buenos konsejos como quiera

  • Nick you are so talented. Keep it up. You are truely an inspiration factor

  • Great stuff man, you have inspired me to take up the soft weapons again, meteor poi being one of them kinda.

Can you do a slightly more detailed instructional on the wrist rolls for me please, I have tried to get this move for years with the 9 section chain whip but never managed it.

I made myself up a meteor using monkey fisted mouse balls attached to a chain spliced climbing cord, 4m > 1.3M. Handy that way, and I can work with slower rotations, but still help me out please.

    Thanks

  • oh wow!! I am so close to running to backyard and mutelating two tennis balls to try that!!

Great tutorial! That's ridiculous though!! It looks like a staff sometimes when you get it gong good!! What happened to like gravity and it being a rope lol!

    :D

  • Centrifugal force ;)

I made a meteor last week, it's really amazing to spin, just feels so nice when you get it going. So start mutelating the tennis balls I would say! :D ;)

  • lol! I already did! :), and i can kind of do it, but with no where near as much control as with poiu and staff! lol, i even have more control of things when i juggle! Now thats saying something. The only time i would set a meteor on fire- .... was if i wasn't going to be the one to spin it lmao!!

  • Wooow!!! You're So Great.

I Saw A Photo In Playpoi Of You With Flags.

Could You Make A Video With Flags???

    Greetings From Mexico.

  • Saw the Peking acrobats do this a few years ago and didn't understand how it was possible. Thanks for the vid!

  • Hey Nik, great tut :)

I can do the meteor 3-Beat weave since about

a year, but have lots of problems to spin the

reverse 2-Beat weave and of course switching

into forward. Have no idea, how you do that. I

like the meteor a lot !! sometimes, i use 2

Hands to spin the meteor. 3 and 5 beat weaves

    are possible.

  • You could try practising it with a staff, if it feels natural with staff then you won't have to think while spinning the meteor. You should be able to do reverse figure 8 (or reverse 2beat weave, whichever you prefer to call it) in no time.

  • ThanxLots, Siddhin. Great advice :D

Gonna practise that. Btw. i've been watching your staff-vids. I guess, that i have to change

my stance, so it looks like yours. I hope, there

will be some amazing moves possible!

  • Only chance your stance if you feel there are more possibilities for you then. I don't really think about how I stand, just how it feels. ;) :)

Got some clips that might help you, search for 'imakokode tutorial I [En] : basic spinning' the first part is forwards and the second part is reverse.

  • este wey es la ondotaaa! no mamen che perro!!!

  • Thanks for this vid... I have been wanting to get started with meteors for some time, but did not have a resource for basic instruction until I cam across this. Your enthusiasm is infectious, too. Thanks!

  • i love you :D

  • Nick, you only surprise us! ^^ That was a nice gift, I love meteor! And still meteor its a no massive juggling toy i think, thank u for sharing meteor with so many people. Greetings from Venezuela. Thanks for all your job for the poi and friends community, 5/5 as usual :)

  • wow...your so talented...youve deffo been a big inspiration to me learning poi!!!

also...how long exactly have you been playing meteor?? just out of curiosity :)

    luv ya

    xx

  • hey, cheers for posting, great to see new stuff.

Nic got a lil challenge for ya

feel like posting a vid of poi or meteor fishtales?

let the world spin as you spin with it x

  • Great video! It's nice to see you working on something new.

  • YUU ARE MY HERO!

  • You should make a video with LED using the meteor technique! Love the vids!

  • Awesome!!!! Where can I find a meteor with different colored balls? I can't seem to find any online. Everything I find is either the same color or just knots...

  • Nice! It'll be awesome to see you explore this tool more. It's my current favorite and extremely versatile! The one thing you forgot to mention is contact meteor!! Oh, and once you get the horiz. propeller down and you start working with tosses, try launching it with an open hand and the rope between two extended fingers (not the thumb). This will allow for a much cleaner, straighter launch when you get the hang of it, and the catch is all about how straight the launch is.

    Peace,

    - Sui

  • I have some friends here in sweden who can do weave hybrids and at least one butterfly polyrythm.

In other words, Meteor sure is friggin awesome. Altho to me there seems to be kind of a lack of transitions between opposits and fwd split / backwards split, I guess it's just the limits of my current state of mind.

keep it up Nick. Altho I must say I enjoy you doing Poi like 200% more ;P

Kudos for funny exit at the end =)

  • may be next video will be with double-staff :))))

  • You are such a nice person. Thank you.

  • I feel pretty dumb right now, because I live in Alaska and should have figured this out imediatly. The Alaskan natives have something like this called an "eskimo yoyo" which i have known how to use for years. But they really only do the butterfly variations with it. I wonder if they got the idea from the Chinese or if both came up with the artform on their own?

  • I have been doing something like this with both of my poi held in one hand, I never though of putting poi heads on each end though. This will make it so much easier

  • Nice to see a lesson about meteor, haven't seen that before. Meteor semms very nice, but also very hard!

It's hard to see what happends with the meteor because the picture isn't really sharp. That's a pity. Otherwise a very good movie!

  • You're good!

though the meteor goes so fast I don't understand everything... I may be slow but I need more slowmotions :D

  • Double meteor would be pretty awesome too.

  • I Love it,and fire Meteor.I think it would be possible to use double meteor too. Thanks for that.

    Dave

  • 2nd!

  • sweet first :)

pretty awesome stuff i must say. long live poi artists!!!
