Megadeth. TMNT: Coming out of there Shells. In Ocean's 11, I think there was a Battletoads reference. How do these 40+ year old guys know so much about MY childhood?
Kirstie Alley was a terrible Vulcan, she wasn't even willing to shave her eyebrows. The actress they got to replace her in the other films was better.
then again the Vulcans were never very well-written in my opinion. Like when they play chess, Kirk beats Spock because of his "unconventional" approach to the game. Bullshit. Chess is pure logic and Spock would win every time. It's tough to write the role of a genius without being one yourself though.
I think Kirstie Alley had NO business being in this movie. Especially playing the role of a Vulcan with total control over her emotions. Every scene she looks like she's on the verge of tears... it's one of the worst acting performances I've ever seen. Besides her, this movie was pretty good!
@zapproowsdower If you actually find the commentary for the casting of Alley, they describe her as one of the more interesting Vulcans for the very fact that her emotions played through... they -wanted- a Vulcan that would have emotion... they thought it gave the species more depth.
@zapproowsdower Rowsdower! For shame. Who cares if she's not emotionless. She's Kirsty Alley and she was super sexy when this movie came out. Now go back to your truck/home and drink your beer.
@McflyMcMurderface Plus, the ones that would actually buy and watch a Rifftrax sample for something like The Wrath of Khan would either be old enough or geeky enough to get it.
For such a classic moment as 01:47, they sure did a pretty weak riff on it.

1:21 I hate that, too. X-p what's up with dudes and doing that??
LouisLambert 9 months ago
I'm a little annoyed that the riffs are based on the Director's Cut editions, which means that the DVDs I have don't synch up properly.

Now I want to re-score "Star Trek" battle sequences to Megadeth songs. Tell me a montage of them set to "Holy Wars" wouldn't be awesome.

@MoltenPlastic That would be "NEW wife and kids at home." Adds to the pathos if, say, he were to die later in the movie....

@Ashtar94 I hope it is the extended version, where it explains that Peter Preston is Scotty's Nephew.

@zapproowsdower Agreed. Troi even beat Data at chess. By that reasoning, I should be completely unbeatable.
