Just FYI, it is possible to get to the mummy death without cheating. It's not easy, granted, but it is possible. There are a couple YouTube videos showing it.

How is it possible to get the night to come withhout taking the scarab?

You simply wait till it gets late enough for it to get dark. Every 20 minutes real time equals 1 hour game time. So you might have to wait for a couple hours but it's possible.

It's two separate deaths. One where she falls and breaks every bone in her body, the other one is the wedding, but it starts with her walking up to batman, being thrown in the tower and then marrying some fairy freak.

Because it doesn't even have an "Oh No" message. It's just a fall. SO therefore, I decided it was uneccessary.

When you're in the cave with the witches, after you take their eye and give it back, they say they are going to give you something and tell you to walk closer... I haven't tried it myself but I have a feeling they just get you. :D I'm going to assume that they do the same thing they do the other times, but ...just thought I'd point it out ^^

It's just that the same thing happens. I tried seeing what the witches will do but it's the exact same death sequence and message. For that reason, I figured I'd just leave it alone.

Yup. The zombie only appears only if you don't have the scarab. It doesn't really make any logical sense. It was just a mechanic to make sure you can't continue without it. Personally, I think the mummy would make the better barrier.

How do you "cheat" to see the mummy without the scarab?

You have to enter Debug Mode.

Push both Shift buttons at the same time and press the minus (-) button on the numeric pad while holding down the shift keys (This can be a challenge for just one person unless you have BIG hands). Type in the letter G then the number 13 in the programmers box and change the number to 69. Then press Shift and D at the same time. This will get you into the tomb.

You're missing one. It's been a long time, but if I remember correctly, if you wait in the dwarves' house without cleaning up for them, they get very mad to find an intruder there and take care of her.

Nice Aladdin reference in the end. How do you get caught by the zombies? I've never gotten to nighttime without the scarab. And... since when do they appear at the door to the house?

You get to night without the scarab by waiting for about a half hour after meeting with Lolotte a second time. The game time is about ten minutes real time to an hour game time. If you don't have the scarab, you get caught by the house zombie.

You can't. If you try to, the game gives you some generic message and you'll keep the scarab.

King's Quest IV is the first and earliest game I can remember as a child. I'd watch my mom play it along with many other Sierra classics. Those were adventures for me back then!

It's downright impossible unless you cheat. 2:40 occurs if you don't have the scarab so you can't get in. To do it push BOTH shift keys down, and while holding them push the minus sign on the numeric key pad (it's possible but hard) then type G and put the number 13 into the box. From there type in the number 69.  Then Press Shift and D and you'll end up in the room.
