Interesting to hear Ned Jarrett in this part hoping for few cautions. Now compare to present-day Darrell Waltrip who sometimes even calls for unnecessary debris cautions to provide more "action". What happened to class in NASCAR?
According to the book "Jeff Gordon: Racing Back to the Front - My Memoir", Gordon was the first rookie to ever lead the first lap at Daytona. That's why I watched this video. Very impressive. :)
For this year's 500 grid, I almost stole Mr. Squier's "my, what an impression he made---on the wall" line for Newman's crash in this year's Duel, but I felt my script was already too long. :P

This remains to this day, the ONLY NASCAR start for Little Al, Big Al would start some in the late 80's on road courses.

This is much better than the crappy 2009 Daytona 500. NASCAR SHOULD GO BACK TO CBS!
