i would play this game in the depths of my basement, with no lights.... and what would freak me out the VERY most, were the sudden crashes back into DOS. No monster in any game was a scary as those crashes lol at least to me. and i LOVED the fact that many creature would only attack you after you attacked them..... oh yeah and i woul cheat the CRAP out of that game too :D
Ah yes... in it's day, this intro pretty much was the shit - in fact, the whole game was the shit, but as much as critics (and anyone else who played it) loved it, few people bought it (maybe it was the unique premise?)
Interestingly enough, I remember Peter Moulyneux stating that he actually wasn't too happy with elaborate CGI intros - he mentioned the birdcage in the background (at 2:10) that took the artist 2 workdays to model, but that few people would even notice in the final scene.
I still remember how amazed I was by the graphics in this intro sequence. For the graphical standards of the time it was nothing short of epic. I mean this was around the time when the 16 bit consoles were still at their height of popularity they wouldn't have even come close to matching these graphics, much as I did love my Sea Genesis!
loved this damn game! i just got it back through torrent. who says doom is better than this? doom is overrated and is more of a mess and distraction rather than much of a violent game. this game supposively lost its appeal for being better than its time?? wtf? ooh i know a secret! Alt+S to save in game! Alt+L to load in game!!! who says magic carpet doesnt have it??
