  • I get the same effect with jigs from walmart. not buying it

  • what if theres no craw fish in my pond its a man made its like cement on the bottom but have big bass would they still kill it

  • i cuaght a 4 1/2 lb spotted bass on a purple evolution jig. very good jig. last tournament i was in it was the only thing i threw and i cuaght a 5 fish limit none of the fish were under 2.5lbs

  • he sinko/jig/fluke is my favorite baits to use in the summer time in my small pond but at certain time i dont know what to use cause i fell if i put one down then the fish might start hitting it so do u think u have any tips for me plz Embarrassed Smiley

  • Sometimes feeding times vary and weather may affect them. Down sizing to a shaky head (4")worm may help. I find that fishing an area with the same baits often cause the fish to move to another area or ignore the same baits.

Try to change things up a little and downsize.

  • i fish in a small pond with bass thats no more then 3 pounds the biggest i caught in there is 2pounds so whats the best size jig to use i use the 1/8th ounce jig but want one size up what would that be thanks for everything

  • The next common sizes are 1/4 and 3/8th oz.

Consider the water clarity and temperature when making size choices. In clear water smaller is better. Cold water(less than 50 degrees)the smaller sizes are generally best.

The 3/8th size is a good all around size. Conerning the bait size in your pond, they will eat the 3/8th size provided the water is not clear. Drop your line in slowly and measure how far it goes down before it goes out of sight. If more than 18in clear. 6-18"is stained

  • thanks ur a big helpand would it work with a pig-n-jig

  • When you say pig-n-jig, I am a little unsure of the question. But the Evolution jig can be used with any type of trailer including the "pig" style being the pork chunk type trailer. There are very good plastic baits for trailers as well.

  • ok thankz is it any disadvantages and any advantage to a rattle jig in stain water would produce more fish and what do they think the noise is

would it work with a pig-n-jig

  • wats the best way to work the jig the jig-n-pig

  • There are a few common methods that are very effective. First is slow drag-stop pull across the bottom. Most effective for cold water situations. The next is a hopping sytle made by bouncing the bait along the bottom. And lastly, swimming the jig over/through grass and beside wood objects. This bait produces larger size fish due to the slower presentation style.

Hope this helps, let us know if there are more questions or if there is anything else we can assist you with.

  • Rattles are helpful to attrack bites. The rattles imitate the sounds a crawfish makes while crawling across the bottom. They are helpful in stained water to help fish to find the bait. In stained water fish feed by sound first which draws them to the bait, then smell and sight trigger them to feed. In stained water dark colors are best, such as black/blue, june bug/chartruese etc. Fish also relate close to cover in stained water which makes them more predictable and easier to locate.
