Omfg. In china, there's a clear difference in dogs. One for meat, and one for pets. It's hard to swallow the thought that us chinks eat them, but if you eat meat, y don't you have a hard time swallowing chicken or beef. Cuz u don't raise it and get attached to them. Same thing n china, it's not like they eat a dog they've known, so y is i it different?

Exactly! My cousin has a farm and owns an old dairy cow and a meat pig. He keeps them as pets an yet he still eats pork chops and beef stew.

Because of what I saw on news and youtube videos, I used to believe that Chinese eat dog meat. But a trip to China in Shanghai, hangzhou and Suzhou showed me that the Chinese in these cities are pampered their dogs and esp in Suzhou, people allow their dogs to wander freely( and it seems that a lot of people in Suzhou own dogs. But I think dog meat is still eaten in southern china and some rural impoverished parts of china. Actually it's the way in which it was killed is more cruel.

@cmwl5152182 I've been to Beijing and Chongqing. Seen some wierd food but never saw dog. Although I have seen videos of dogs kept in cages ready for banquets and stuff. It's not common practice but I know that it does go on in some regions. It's a lot like the Japanese tradition of Whale meat. Not eaten regularly but at formal events it will often be served up.
