  • why does it have trouble from like 60-80, don't these the same engine the mach1 ran?

  • @sidescrollin I don't know, the road isn't exactly level, I might have hit a hill or something.

  • no they rnt the same motor dohc yes but not the same the 99-01 and 03-04 machs have different heads and intake setup

  • @1sikbirdy still basically the same engine, just like the lt1 in the roadmasters and caprices. Regardless if the heads and intake are different its still running 290hp.

    also, a motor is electric.

  • actually now that i think about it the ENGINES arnt the same at all the block is different its aluminum in the mark.... and the mach is cast the heads are different so that makes the ENGINE different and if your saying the mach has 290hp your wrong the mach has 305hp and 99-01 cobra are 320hp which are both underated a little im not trying to argue with you i dont know every little thing about the dohc all i know is that 93-98 all dohc were 90% the same intke difference makes a lot of difference

  • 96-98 cobras use diifferent intakes than the 97-98 marks along with the 93-96 marks used different inatakes.... if you think thats its the same ENGINE then fine think that but ask other people that really know something about the ENGINES if they are the same like people from LMS (lincoln motor sports) or TCCoA or SCCoA

  • yo sidescrollin, you got an M30?

  • what gives you that idea?

  • nah just a guy on F31Club under the same username.

  • @markkjay

lol ya thats me, I have a 92 convertible.

just got the power steering hose replace today XD

  • How did you get a K & N intake? I check their site and it doesn't come up. = (

  • you have to fabricate it man...easiest way is to just forget K&N, just make a smooth aluminum intake for ur mark, and ditch the flat filter, go with a cone.

  • that thing is quick

  • hmm... i was told that the 93 and 94 model was faster than the 97 and 98 model in top speed... is this true?

  • I don't really know. I know that the LSC has a 3.27 rear end, so that probably reduces top speed a bit. When I first got it, I took her up to 138 no problem, and she could've easily gone faster, but I'm a wimp and I don't want to go to jail....so I won't ever be doing that again.

  • haha... I hear you on that man... I dunno what year I want just yet... I'm still thinking on it...

  • Good luck man. If you get the first gen mark viii, better try and find the brightest headlights you can.

  • thanks man... I will do that...

  • My 93 Mark VIII is all bone stock except the two rear resonators and rear cats were taken out to weld a decent set of mufflers on there and it will 0-60 at 5.8 and top out at 152 then shut off it shifts into second gear at 60 into 3rd at 100.

  • @dieselp0w3r oh god not this moron again. 0-60 in 5.8 with nothing but a set of mufflers?? Try again idiot. you're so full of shit. go take a nap kiddo.

  • if thats taller than the old ones yes but 3.27s can go to like 200mph so ..not rly.

  • Dude thats in mph thats fast!

  • but damn....look at that tranny slippage. time for a j-mod! =]

  • I want one of these so bad!

  • I'd definately recommend one. Yeah, they may be quick, but I don't boogy mine too much. She's mainly just a nice cruiser.

  • Yeah, those intechs get the job done, i used to have a Conti and that thing would go. Not the best on gas though lol!

  • v8. 40 mpg. u can't beat it.

  • 32 at best....at least thats the best ive ever gotten, or heard of anybody else getting

  • yeah i meant 30 sorry. im selling my shit

  • you have a mark viii?

how much are you sellin it for?

  • how much you got?

  • if i told you i had a tuna sandwich and 5 bucks you would say im an idio...if i told you i had 10 grand you would say sold lol.

it all depends on the overall condition of the car, and where it is (GAS)

  • Get an conversion kit to a standard suspension, problem solved. ;)

  • Is it the LMS Intake or just homemade with a K+N cone?

  • It was a used K&N off a Mustang GT...I just modified it to fit my engine, which didn't take much considering the engine components are almost identical. But it's not homemade if that answers your question.

  • the mark is such a nice car, i'm debating on wether to trade in mt 98 for a new mustang gt....even though they're slower, at least the 2005-2008's are. stock for stock.

    what do you guys think?

  • well, the mark is definately a much smoother ride...and it's a bit faster. But the mustang is more nimble and hooks better on the road. It just depends on what you want.

  • kept the markviii for daily driver and dependability and ended up buying an 89gt. been dying to get another fox body since i lost my 1987 stang.

  • Hopefully you live somewhere that's not in the snowbelt. That's all I can say.

  • keep your mark man,its just such a great car,but thats my opinion

  • you ain't gotta convince me. Yeah I had a few air suspension problems, but $400 later everything is fixed with springs now. It handles better now too anyway.

  • where did you get your kit from? My pump went out about a month ago and the exhaust literally drags on the gorund on bumpy roads.

  • well guys i decided to keep my mark viii, upgrade to springs, and buy myself another fox body 89gt mustang!

    Ford!

  • Did the intake help much?

  • nice, gets up there really fast
