the last 4 seasons have been progressively better, all going down to the final or penultimate race with massive suprises at the end. Hamilton loosing it all in the last 3 races of 2007, then winning on the last corner in 08, Buttons penultimate race win in Brazil in 09 and Vettels final race win in 2010. Seriously cant remember a time as good as this since the Senna era...

Can someone explain me, why the guys who make the design rules are trying to make the cars slower? You guys think Red Bull has a fast car but the cars Schumacher and Montoya used to drive were MUCH better and FASTER, that´s why most of the track records still belong to them. Lets debate this issue, because these poeple are killing creativity!!! >=(

@SiIverArrovv if they would let them do what ever they like the cars could easely go 400 km/h and even more. It's becouse of the saftey and i think with the new rules they have to be even more creative about the cars and try to get as much as possible out of each part. More overtaking more fun.

the speed hasnt been reduced because of the change in car designed the engines have dropped from a 1.8 v8 turbo charged down to a 1.6 v6 (i believe) no charger. however the aerodynamics and understanding of how the cars run at high speeds has reduced the speed reduction.

the reason for this is mainly safety, crashes at over 200mph will kill/seriously injure not just the driver but anyone else with bits flying everywhere. see Massa when Barachello was hit by the bolt in 2009.

@Euclides287 2 reasons, saftey and close racing. They are trying to keep the top speed around 200mph anything over the cars cant get close enough and some of the tracks will not be safe enough. I dont think they are killiing creativity, look at last years inventions, F-duct, blown diffuser, double diffuser and this year Reanult with forward facing exhaust! last 2 years of the sport have been the best i can remeber in a long time and I think 2011 will be better again!

Brilliant video of a brilliant season. It shows that F1 is still amazing, you can't say it's better or worse than 10,20.30 years ago.

Everybody who says it's boring compared to the ''old days'', should ask to themselves: ''Is it really F1 itself that has changed, or did I / my perception change?'', most certainly it's the latter...

I think everyone was asking that question after the first race in Bahrain, I know i was, it lacked true racing that weekend, but then the Austrilla GP came and F1 started to show its true colours again, the F1 that we love, with true racing. :D
