It always seems like teams who win the World Series have unlikely events go their win, and when this happened, I was like "This has got to be our year." With this walk, the Stairs homerun in the NLCS, and the Ruiz walk off grounder in the World Series, there was no doubt.

This was one of those soo unlikely events that went on during the playoffs for the Phillies. Brett Myers' walk against one of the most dominant pitchers in the league, Victorino hitting a salami off him, Matt Stairs' HR against a relief pitcher who hadn't given up a homer in over 2 years, etc...it was those moments that really defined the Phillies postseason run. But good teams always seem to get those breaks and fortunate plays, etc...What a run 2008 was for the Phils...

That was probably one of the greatest at bat's by a pitcher i have ever seen. He seems to make it look easy but yet again he's a pitcher sometimes the go up and just stand there. But no brett battled and battled against one of the best pitchers in the game. When i was watchin that i wonderting is this for real If Brett struck out and didn't get on who no's where the game or series could have gone. I tip my hat to brett myers that was one of the greatest at bats i have seen in a while Go Phils!!!

I remember listening to the dumbass announcers on TBS saying "This is a first" to fans cheering foul balls and a walk like this...and i'm thinking to myself "Do these guys even know about Philly?" Only philly fans would cheer something like this, and it's why I love my city.

They should get the video of the playoffs of 1977 when the fans heckled Dodgers pitcher Burt Hooten so bad that he had to be taken out of the game. CC Sabathia is a great pitcher but he became the 2008 version of Burt Hooten!!!

It was like the bottom of the ninthin game 7 of the WS during Myers atbats agaist CC. What people might not know is that he had a Second Epic atbat agaist CC that would eventually lead to his exit. Two 10 pitch AT-bats. Amazing!

this was awesome, i never saw so many people cheer for a 9 pitch at bat everytime a ball or foul occurred, then the next at bat, even though he got out was 10 pitches, then 3rd at bat, he got a base hit. brett myers is the shit!
