It is not a bonus. I distinctively remember seeing this scene when it it originally aired. It has been cut out of syndicated reruns for added commercial space. A lot of scenes have been similarly cut in order to fill more ad space. Syndication ruins great television shows all the time.
one of my favorite opening scenes, its not a deleted scene, maybe when network aired it but not on dvd, its The Package Episode, when George makes those kinky pictures of himself for the girl at the film store (the infamous picture of him on the sofa in his tidy whiteys) LOL it's season 8, episode 5
@snuhr well there are 73 comments and i don't have the attention span to be picking those apart. I didn't see the name of the episode on the first page of comments so if you don't tell me, it will remain a mystery to me and i don't want that. So if you do know the name of the episode, I would very much appreciate it if you would share your wisdom with me.
Okay. I only have the first season of the show and that is one reason why I don't remember this.
And they do on some channels do shorten the show. I remember the episode where Kramer feeds the horse and he says "you better eat up all of it because I got 40 cans of this stuff."
But some channels they cut the part where "I got 40 cans" Not all the time but they do. I think it's weird.
@snuhr it's a deleted scene, the real opening of the episode "The Package" has Elaine in the doctor's office and the doctor writing that she's "difficult"
@CptSchmidt -- It's cut out of the syndicated versions so they can put in more commercials. It's still in the dvd, though. I think it's from season 8 or 9.
This is gold! Why didn't they ever air this with a normal episode? I've seen every episode at least 15 times literally, and I know for a fact that this is never aired.
Glad to see someone out there is as sick as me. My 15 yr. old daughter says I should go to Seinfeld AA classes.
Ever notice In the Chinese restaurant, the guy says "Cartwright!"...It's because he hears "Costanza", thinks of the '60's TV show "Bonanza". The Cartwrights lived at the Ponderosa on Bonanza...Brilliant! In "The Dealership" when Kramer was on the test drive w/the salesman, there's NOTHING in the back seat...later, a HUGE stuffed Tweety Bird appears, then later ...it's gone! Why??
very good Mr! props to you.. i noticed the dealership bird one, but never knew about the chinese restaurant.. i had every episode on dvd but i lost them! i nearly died. its high time i go out and buy the box set
I agree 100%, I mean being in your 40's and smoking ciggars, and talking about conspiracies, aliens, the bermuda triangle, etc it doesn't sound so bad. ;)

@scottieman2
yeah, i noticed the same on our TV station,
someone explained before that they do it because of
the ad's and time is i guess fixed for show, so TV ones lose
some scenes cause of that... dunno if that is true or not
but yeah TV's do shorten it
snuhr 1 year ago
@snuhr I do believe that. Pretty soon it'll be just adds. I donno why though.
scottieman2 1 year ago
@scottieman2
coz TV is most effective in spreading crap :)
even more effective than internet and local newspapers/paper ads :P
my tv channel consist of every 15 minute cut of program to show 10 minute ads
and its going on for 5 years like that now, so imagine watching movie or serie
like seinfeld for 15min and then ads of 10 min, then 15 again of program, then 10 again of ads.... and so on... its BS
snuhr 1 year ago
@snuhr
Damn. I hate TV. I know they need sponsors, but they should be like PBS and have the commercials at the end of the show.
scottieman2 1 year ago
@scottieman2
TV program regarding ads became very agressive lately
atleast in my country, we get more ads and we gat higher pre-pay (monthly bill)
which is actualy illegal, as companies that buy time for their ads, cover the
expences of TV house(s), but my country is corrupted and nobody changes a thing :P
so yeah it sux overall
