Snowbuddy27: Yes, the garbage island off the coast of Texas IS a reality. Since most of the hurricanes im not sure if thats true anymore, but I believe there is still something out there.
ranger0987654321: This trash doesnt come from ships dumping it in the sea, it comes from you and me and idiots who throw stuff on the beaches.
rainbowcatcher666: Yes it does make me sick.
It should be realized that we need to stop littering asap.
80% of it all comes from land dwellers. Out of the car window, into the storm drains, etc...
Most sea folk have far too much respect to dump overboard, plus Greenpeace doesn't intercept vessels. They're not armed guards, but it sure would be nice if they were ;)
The Coast Guard sure isn't concerned due to all of the sea-terrorists interested in taking America's freedom.
Thanks for doing this work and for posting this video for us to see. I was wondering if the stories about the Texas sized floating garbage island is an actual reality?? In any case it is just so inconceivable that we have been doing this to ourselves for so long. Where is the common sense?? Thanks again.

it's not just littering that causes it. landfills frequently blow clouds of plastic into the ocean.
we HAVE to change the way we package food and meat and other products. It's infuriating that we haven't already, knowing what we know.
google "bisphenol A"

Kinda makes you sick to see that this is what we are doing to the planet. About time plastics were made that were bio degradable in a safe way.
