A Dangerous Game Jekyll and Hyde

I was in an [amateur] production of this show a couple of years ago, and it's a challenging production, for the whole cast and especially for the actor playing Jekyll. Hasslehoff wasn't the greatest Jekyll, but, given that he wasn't experienced in musical theatre, he didn't do a bad job. I've never rated him much as an actor, but his singing voice is way better than I would have expected.

I think Coleen was A-mazing in this particular song because I love the quality of her voice. The Hoff was OK but kinda creepy.

SHE is absolutely amazing. If I am ever 1/100 as good as an actress, I will consider myself complete. How she keeps a straight face and sings so well while watching him is beyond me, not to mention the fact that she's trying to keep him on beat as well... Hasselhoff, on the other hand... not so fantastic.

Guys, come on, don't judge just like that. He had the dream of doing this musical, and he prepared for one year and a half to do it. I study singing, and I can tell you that an adult preparing himself that way in so little time is something to be admired. Singing in a musical is damn difficult.

But yeah, he's way overacted XD. Still a good way, remember the personality of Hyde in the book, he's as beastly as David here.

@scotpj He does get off rhythm, but I think Confrontation is so much better without the backgrounds vocals. He does the song faster and more chaotic than the professionals, but that's how Hyde's character is. I think that's how the song should be. Jekyll is having a battle with Hyde, and Hasselhoff shows that kind of crazy desperation. Although his Jekyll isn't all that great, Hasselhoff is an amazing Hyde. He brings a fantastic kind of roughness to the character, and his vocals aren't terrible.

I love that this song is supposed to have the subtext of Lucy knowing Hyde is bad news, but she relents to her inner nature and goes for him anyway. However, poor Miss Sexton looks like she just wants to get the hell away from the HoffHyde...I LOVE watching her with Rob Evans though.

These two may not have had the talents as past actors singing wise, but their acting is probably the best. The other actors were amazing vocalists, but when it come to their acting you never actually felt the characters. Linda Eder, for example, has an absolutely stunning unbeatable voice but her acting is that of the shell of Lucy rather than Lucy as a whole.

the only good effect casting the Hoff in this musical is he is so tall and beast that he towers over people making him look synical...and thats about it. His faces are kinda funny though....at 0:23 and 2:19 lmao. If i were her I would've broken character fo sure.

Yeah, but, with a guy like that, we're really only getting half the story: the oh my god this man is really, really disturbed and I don't want him to touch me part.
