  • The Russians if they watched this must of been very confused & a bit worried,

these boys are fucked up big time.

  • BOMB VIETNAM!

  • 41 years ago and they are still killing and trying to expand the empire. The real reason for their defeat here was because they were in the wrong and the Vietnamese knew they had right on their side and that is what counts in the end!

  • That guy at 9:25 looks just like Lt.Wolfe from Platoon the guy who fucks up calling in artillary.

  • That shit psyops is playin"Wanderin Soul" would bug me the fuck out if I was in the jungle

  • Psyops at 3:39

  • when you see this war every soldier ask why am i here

  • 5;58 Chu hoi (open arms) leaflets. Communists used them to wipe their asses with. Alabama 2/1 196th LIB 1970-71

  • I think I spotted Rush Limbaugh and Newt in this...

  • EVERYTHING the americans did in vietnam we did in africa(angola mozambique and guinea) and by 1970 the soldiers there didnt fight at all, nobody give a shit, it wasnrt a war against communism it was about money like always, the real reason for americans in veitnam was oil...the real reason why the war was happening in africa was oil diamonds gold etc, there was oil lots of it in vietnam, and also the war machine, nixon and johnson knew it and this is why kennedy got killed

  • @badsign1980

Oh yes, just like all the cheap oil we get from Iraq, really out weighs the daily cost of the war--ARE YOU SERIOUS?

  • @badsign1980

Uhh..not really oil in Vietnam. The Viet Nam war for the USA was the proxy war that the government couldn't fight against China and the USSR and their friends. North Vietnam was seen as just as an extension of China, etc.

  • gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodmorning

  • That "Goooooood" went way behond the bounds of being funny into the realms of fucking annoying. Anyway moving on lol

  • A totally unnecessary war. But so were World War One and World War Two. Lies, lies, and more lies. And the sons of the poor continue to die for the rich.

Throw out your TVs and take back the power from the invisible hand that pulls Obama's strings.

  • Im glad i wasn't born when this war had occured. This was a war that was uncalled for. Didn't people notice that the only country who took part in this war was the United States. I am proud for Canada to have not taken part in this bloody massacre of a war.

  • @BeyondChange can't believe i'm defending america , there where a number of nations in viet nam , australia, new zealand and even korea..........

  • @grunt182820 no really korea umm uhhh wat were we fighting north korea and south korea was on are side

  • What a great documentary. I find it very sad to see these guys suffering - almost like they were serving a prison sentence. Terrible and unnecessary stuff.

  • 0:28, burning shit, now there is a duty to be pissed about, guess no one would bother you though.

  • I don't think it's such a silly idea. The last President and "Commander-in-Chief" who actually was a former commanding officer in the US army, was Eisenhower. Bush, he had a stint in the Air Texas National Guard and failed to turn up for service in Vietnam. In the US and in other countries, most previous leaders and army commanders had genuine service experience and a knowledge of the horrors of war. Maybe if Bush had served in Vietnam he would've thought more carefully about Iraq-Afghanistan.

  • ways the song called at the start???

  • "...the greatest army in history.." er...right

  • Eighty percent of soldiers serving in Vietnam were volunteers. In nineteen seventy only twenty five percent of soldiers were addicted to or using drugs. The sixties generation that fought in Vietnam were brought up to be very patriotic.

  • How i wish parents of today would deny the Gov. to send their children into war.

An army should only protect its own borders.

The power elite, dont think of the lives, only on their profit.

  • If I was an American citizen (although I thank God every day I'm NOT), I'd run for Senator (fat chance, I'm not in the millionaire boy's club) and push for a bill that forces EVERY US President, politician and statesman, to join his troops on the front line, when they declare war. You wanna invade Iraq, George Bush? Sure, just remember to turn up this time. And don't expect too much sympathy when you get your f**king legs blown off. That'd make him think twice.

  • Are you stupid? In modern wars, first of all, not many troops are even used for an invasion(only 78 for Afghanistan). Second of all, the problem lies with the Pentagon trying to micromanage a war when they have no military knowledge.

  • Yes, but I still feel part of the problem lies with the President and his inner circle for starting the invasion in the first place. Iraq and Afghanistan were George's idea - a more conservative statesman (I don't mean right-wing, I mean more level-headed) would have thought twice about invading a country which NO INVADING ARMY HAS EVER CONQUERED. Bush, he just went in guns blazing. And like everything else in his life, he screwed up. Other people have had to pay the price, though.

  • @henningkemner Yes and propaganda makes for them more and more "soldiers".

! thing is still bad: religion allows them provoke fights coz all is for "better " future and easy to explain to those "believers".Anw it is young stupid mans who goes to die so those sure cant think themself yet.

  • @henningkemner without profit another country could go to war with us then we'll be out of resources therefore having no country to protect in the end.

its like helping the poor people in Africa instead of helping the homeless in America

  • @henningkemner

the problem is that there is no draft.....all of these people signed up, ready to die for someone else.....I know, I served in Vietnam as a draftee...........

  • @henningkemner you speak sense and i wish there were more people like you :)

  • I want to know who perfomed the Opening song ??

  • Ann Murray "Snowbird"

  • "the greatest army in history..."

    eh?

  • ima gonna try to hold that goooooooood morning vietnam for 15 seconds lik he did in the begining.lol

  • They had a Australian division in Vietnam who used the Jungle small enfield.....LOL gooks

  • holy crap.. that propaganda tape thingy was scary..

  • This documentary could only have been British with it`s irony.

  • But it's Australian.

  • Hello mate. The reporter came from Australia originally. But this was part of a series called "World In Action" that was made in Manchester, England.

  • I stand corrected...

  • Good documentary though - they should show it to those who make silly war decisions!

  • I agree. But I wonder why this sort of resistance seem to be so rare these days. Resisting war should be the best way to stop them.

  • Apparently this wasn`t allowed to be shown in the USA at the time. Why can`t we learn the lessons?

  • We do learn....just very, very, very slowly...

  • I disagree, the best way to stop war is to finish them quickly. resisting may stop the war temporarily, but then the problem which is not resolved will become big one day and the only way to stop it is to set a second war.

  • interesting.

and in applying this thought to vietnam, what would you say, "the problem" was?

  • The main reason US set this war is to stop the spreading of Communist in VN. As the war stopped by resistance, VN become one of Communist countries. It may satify some peace lovers, but in the future when the war between Communism and Capitalism occurred (by some more significant reasons. US may have to face the Communist VN, their unresolved problem in the past, but this time it's bigger, stronger and more organized.

  • There was no communist involved on the truth of this war you idiot. I'm sure you buy lots of shit from Communist China Wal Mart cause that's all you little 23 yr. old boys do all day long. I was drafted in 1967 and it really pisses me off when a little boy sits out here on his PC directing traffic as if he knew a thing about this war or any war. Keep it to yourself next time fool.

  • MR ex soldier, I bet you are experienced enough about war as you've gotten your pitiful ass kicked in it. But war is basically a titan level of conflict and conflicts are unavoidable as it's a part of nature. I do not love war, I only see it differently from you as something that usually happen everyday and shall never stop till the end of this world. So instead of scare the shit out of it, it's better trying to achieve the goal and finish it in the most effective and least destructive way.

  • Left wing hate filled anti American ...

Just a bit slanted don't you think?

  • that was the sickest ive seen. that psyops tape. the more i read into this war, the more absurd it gets.

why the fuck was they even sent there in the first place?

  • Here's a really obvious statement: The American govt. knew nothing about the Viet spirit and long history of battle. Silly Americans.

  • rather: were are all the rich people. its the poor and the working class that are being exploited and used in wars.

  • "I dont want to see communism spread all over the world."

    Good stuff.

  • Personally, I prefer Wagner. The psychological warfare was mainly against those Grunts fighting the war. Dumping leaflets and playing Wandering Soul just made the Vietnamese hate them more. Poor dopes.

  • thank you for posting this video, it is fascinating, even though the reporter has a definite bias. The interviews he made with the soldiers provide an interesting perspective.

  • He's biased against war, but then is that such a bad thing?

  • like ur mothers p3nis

  • I am totaly obsessed by this war, the rock & roll war. I grew up watching movies like Platoon and Full metal jacket. I idolized the soldiers, the brotherhood and the slangs that defined them. Later in life I tried to undertsand the Vietnam war and I studied the subject through books and documentaries. But the complexity of it all is unparallel with any other wars... at lease to my knowledge. My heart goes out to the people who suffered from this war... peace.

  • I couldn't be more on the same page/level as you are or say it any better. AMEN.

  • may the devil take u down with all them retards lke u

  • @Davestunkiller I know exactly what you mean ... even went as far as joinin the Marine Corps

  • @Davestunkiller me to, stuck in the same weird obsession, have you seen vietnam a television history

  • @algor123 sorry man, meant to give a thumbs up.

  • @Davestunkiller read mobile guerrilla force by james donahue. its a good book.
