I LOVE KX, one of my fav bands ever. But I didn't like this cover, except for Doug singing, there's no KX into it. The song lost energy and punch. The drummer made an interesting work though.
Check KX on Take Cover (Mr. Big), THAT is a hell of a cover.
I love Dug in this song. But this doesn't sound like that AWESOME lead guitarist they have...maybe I'm wrong. I just discovered King's X last week, so I dunno.
tell me one thing, how much stupid you are?did i say that it is MY version? it isn't. and they are all professionals.someone else has to learn more before it talks.if you don't like it its your opinion and it is respectable.the others tell them to your buddies, not me!!
This is a very good version of this track, it really shows feeling and skill, this version shows that you can really take this song to a new place. Thanks for the upload.
Douchebag. If you're talking about raw singing ability, Doug kills James. If you're talking about fidelity to the original song, then you have kind of a point, except a)many covers depart quite a bit from the original and b) this one is better than the original.
As far as being the "biggest metal band of all time"--who cares? Dark Angel tears Metallica to pieces, and I bet you don't even know who they are.
YOU MUST HAVE JUST GOT OUT OF WESTERN STATE OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THE ONLY REASON KINGS X is not big as METTALICA is because the RACISTS ATTITUDES OF THE RECORD COMPANIES!!! Which is same reason they wont play Chuck Berry,Little Richard Albert King,or B.B.KING or the hard ROCK stations yet they play the MUTHAFUCK out of STEVIE RAY VAUGHN and ERIC CLAPTON who are BOTH COPYCATS of B.B.KING and ALBERT KING!! SO GO TAKE YOUR PAXIL AND GET YO MIND RIGHT!!!! TRUTH STANDS LIKE A ROCK!!
It's nice to meet fellow Dark Angel fans. I agree about Dark Angel ripping up Metallica to shreds.
Dark Angel had better lyrics and a better drummer than Metallica. Ron Rinehart is also a considerably impressive vocalist versus James Hetfield.
Granted, Kill 'em All is superior to We Have Arrived but Dark Angel truly began when Gene entered the fray and delivered such hidden gems like Darkness Descends (classic), Leave Scars (masterpiece) and Time Does Not Heal (magnum opus).
"Pain's Invention, Madness" was described as the "Beethoven's 9th" of thrash metal in one of the videos available on YouTube whereas One, at best, is a song that could be compared to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
...and even that would be too big of a compliment because the intro to One was somewhat derived from Venom's Buried Alive.
Additionally, DA have not plagiarized like Metallica has (no matter how small their plagiarism is versus, say, Bullet for my Valentine or Avenged Sevenfold).
this is from 'Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica,' I know Doug's on vox and Vernon Reid (Living Colour) is on guitar, don't know the rest of the lineup for this song tho..
Vocals are awesome, goes good with the song.

One of my favorite of my favorite Metallica covers! Tony Franklin could play bass on a Phish album and it would be good.

Really? Wow. You have a lot of great music to digest then. Ty is a great guitarist. His solo and side projects are all worth picking up, too.

Dug is awesome as usual. That unfortunately is Vernon Reid on lead guitar. He somehow manages to sound worse than Hammet.

An example of Dark Angel's superiority to Metallica lies in the face of their dark ballads - Fade to Black and An Ancient Inherited Shame.
Lars said that FTB helped out a lot of people who felt really down in their lives, whereas AAIS was critically acclaimed by various feminist groups.
This was because it was an anti-rape song that convincingly delved into the mind of a rape victim. It's a highly analytical song.
Also, "Pain's Invention, Madness" is a thrash ballad that one-ups One.

For those not convinced as to which is the better band:
Ron could sing James' songs better than James could sing Dark Angel's (which includes the songs written prior to Ron's entry in the band).

That sure the hell isn't Ty on guitar. I don't think he would be caught dead with that crappy of a guitar tone. Sounds like a 2k test tone.
