  • "Cornelle's texts are not for me."

  • EYYY MOLIERE IS THE GUY FROM THE SPANISH APARTMENT MOVIE AND THE RUSSIAN DOLLS...XAVIER!!!

  • Much better than "Shakespeare in Love"

  • @ferdinandsouz

I know right!? I watched this my Junior year in High school and ever since then it has had a special place in my heart. :) I remember coming home still thinking about it and sobbing (don't worry I won't give away the end) but it was so touching, so well done, and the acting was so inspirational. I'm happy to finally see that some one agrees!! Hope you have a good day! :)

  • @Beyourbest88 I send you a personal message

  • Thank you for upload, I have a test about this next week. :D ;)

  • Orgazmico!

  • All,

Found it - the Anthony Sher / Nigel Hawthorne version - it is on video and it's an RKO Home Video which was issued by the Royal Shakespeare Company and is price $89 on Amazon.com

It's probably worth contacting the RSC to see if they put it on to DVD, and Amazon.co.uk would give a price on the vid for over here.

    T

  • @IrelandsPatriot I will, about the only thing I can think of is to contact AS himself he but doesn't appear to have a website nor a direct "to him" facebook page, so it's a little bit difficult................ Thanks for the reply.

  • what a great quality! Thank you!

  • @timsan55: The version you remember is an Royal Shakespeare Company production. I believe it's from 1984, and is directed by Bill Alexander. I love it too -- Antony Sher is the creepiest Tartuffe ever! You might be able to track it via Amazon.co.uk

  • he was not a contemporary of Shekespeare..

  • @bubbles02010 its based on his life and some of his plays

  • moliere was born six years after waggledagger died so they were not contemporaries by any stretch

  • @robinoi thank you! i mean, i love them both, but they were at least a hundred years apart. lol!

  • There was a production of "Tartuffe" on TV in the UK in the mid to late 80's Anthony Sher as Tartuffe, and Nigel Hawthorne as Orgon, it was fantastic, but I have never seen it since, I wonder if anyone else saw it or knows about it or where it could be found ?

  • is this movie based on his actual life or on the play Tartuffe or both?

  • merci. thank you so much for uploading this movie and for the subtitles

  • Ahhh, say my own sentiments. tis the dissembling of the tartuffe and skill of its creator's pen that has me on the edge of my seat again!

  • :-/ ...not sure if he counts as a contemporary of Shakespeare; he was born 6 years after Shakespeare died. ...but it was certainly around the same time; although, someone who died 6 years before I was born had a much different experience than me, to be sure.

  • because he studed his plays...Shakespeare was one of his greatest inspirations...

  • Thanks for the upload, been waiting to see this movie for quite some time! :)
