Hey guys... I have Windows 7 with a 64-bit 2.6 GHz and 4 GB of ram and I tried installing WIndows 98, 95 under Microsoft Virtual PC but for some reason it does not work. And if it gets to install it, it doesn't run on full screen like this version shown here.

Anybody can guide me thru the installation process? Maybe I'm doing it wrong. How can I even run my CD of Windows 98. It had trouble doing that.

Wrong. Linux has horrid driver support and what ever drivers it does have generally are not well optimized and preform significantly worse then on Windows.

Agreed, unknown2594... and I am making my own little Windows 98..... mostly the backgrounds from it... along with a bit from the XP and power of the 7... I keep all the sounds from 98 of course! And an old SOUND BLASTER LIVE card, making a thinder noise at startup.... hahahaha!

I had Win98SE on my first PC when I was 7 and used it for 3 or 4 years. It's still to this day my favorite and best OS. So many memories with it.

If it supported SATA hard drives and if my graphics card had drivers for it (damn you 4870X2), I'd probably put it on dual boot.

If you use it on a VM you can't play any games though, due to no 3D acceleration support.

XP was and still is a very good OS to have. As for the new OS's, well, I don't see a too bright future.

On a WIndows Computer if there was some sorta problem, you would press Ctrl-Alt-Del to get the Task Manager to quit the unresponsive program.

On a Macintosh Computer, you would press Command-Option-Escape key and get the "Force Quit" menu, from there select the unresponsive program and click "Force Quit"

My Windows 98 pc was a AMD K-6 II at 500 MHz, with 128 MB RAM, nVidia video card with 32 MB of RAM and 20 GB HDD. Both Windows products were "flying"on those machines. Now I have XP on a Quad Core Q6600, 4 GB RAM and nVidia 9600 GT, with a 320 WDC HDD. I still miss the 98 days :)
