This is what makes Tony such a fascinating character. We see him be the most caring person in the world sometimes. He truly convinces you that he cares so much for Chris in many scenes but yet it doesn't totally surprise you that hes capable of killing him. We see Tony at his weakest and seemingly most caring side, and we see him as a complete monster. Its the life he lives that makes him the monster. He could have been Kevin Finnerty, if it wasnt for the 2 morally corrupt families he lives in.
You guys are completely missing the point. When Tony killed Christopher, it wasn't a " Oh, great opportunity to get rid of a legal liability!" As with all of Tony's impulse murders, it was an emotional response. He saw the impaled babyseat in the back and thought of Chris's baby or wife. The emotional stress of Chris's continuing drug problems most likely strengthened this reaction, and it finally reaches a boiling point.
Same reason he killed Ralph, an emotional reaction, not a practical one.
Chris had to go, he had a drug problem which meant the possibility of getting arrested and being hit with jail time. Chris already indicated several times that he's willing to kill Tony or snitch on him. Tony had the perfect opportunity to get rid of a huge potential disaster without any liability. Whether it was morally wrong or not is irrevelant- these guys are gangsters and they operate on a flimsy moral system to begin with. Tony overlooked a lot of Chris' BS, eventually your luck runs out.

Ever since the start, Chase wanted, by the end of the show, to have "no hope left" - Adriana's death, Junior's sickness, Pussy, Tony B, Chris - it all adds up. Tony was a borderline sociopath, yes, but the death is more of a metaphor depicting that this is how low it has come for Tony: killing his own nephew with little sympathy.

It was clear Chris no longer felt indebted to Tony at a certain point. He works for Tony because he's the boss and this is a "for life" thing, but Chris would again be his slave or sell his soul for him. Tony knew that.
I believe the reason he killed him is because he loved him. It may sound weird, but Christopher would have been FUCKED UP and most probably CRIPPLED after the crash. Tony realized this and knew Chris would have wanted to die there and then, instead of suffering.
I think Tony was disappointed and realized Chris was never going to get better. But in the scene itself, Chris talks Tony into changing policy against his better judgement, and then is revealed to have his judgement impaired by drugs. Tony has already shared family secrets, and gotten policy advice from his nephew. So Chris is a security risk on two counts, and he has to go.

1. Tony has been through this with Chris already.
2. Drug addiction leads to all kinds of bad decisions, which Tony could not afford to risk, especially with Chris as his number-two.
3. Its easy for the Feds to bust someone for drugs - that's how they got Pussy and Adriana. Once they have him, they can flip him when he's in withdrawal.
4. Tony saw the stick through the car seat. If the baby had been in the car she'd have been dead because of Chris and his addiction.
5. Chris was toast anyways. Punctured lung, head all smashed in. He did it so Chris wouldnt suffer. Kind of like when you hit a dear, instead of letting it die in the ditch u should get out and slash its throat with your tire iron.

I love the use of Floyd in this song. @1:58 you can tell Tony's mood is clearly reflective of the lyrics. "When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse, out of the corner of my eye" easily references Tony viewing Chris as his heir apparent circa season 4. "I turned to look and it was gone, I cannot put my finger on it now" easily references Chris's loss in drug addiction, "The child is grown, the dream is gone" is Tony seeing Chris is never going to be what he wants him to be, and it is gone.

Shows like these are meant to be watched from beginning to end without spoilers, and anyone who skips the show and watches a few clips is missing out on the best show ever.

Tony got pissed cuz if chris had his daughter with him while he was driving all fucked up, she would have been killed. When I first saw this, when Tony closed his phone, I remember thinking "holy shit, no he's not" lol. For some reason this scene was the most shocking to me. I expected Chrissy to make it to the series finale, but he was too much of a liability. I still don't think the fact that Christopher was high was the soul reason why Tony decided to kill him. Obviously the fact that Chrissy;s drug use could've possibly killed the baby is what sealed Chrissy fate.
It wasn't the drugs. Tony felt Chrissy was fantasizing his downfall through his movie "Cleaver". Is was after that movie that Tony realized how ungrateful Chrissy was and how much he despised him. So Tony was like: "why waste energy trying to save somebody who doesn't appreciate you?"
another thing to keep in mind is when he looks in the back seat of the car at the tree branch hitting the car seat. thinking of chris as a parent was another reason he killed him. so you can argue about it but there are many reasons he killed him.

I believe the reason he killed him is because he loved him. It may sound weird, but Christopher would have been FUCKED UP and most probably CRIPPLED after the crash. Tony realized this and knew Chris would have wanted to die there and then, instead of suffering.

I think Tony was disappointed and realized Chris was never going to get better. But in the scene itself, Chris talks Tony into changing policy against his better judgement, and then is revealed to have his judgement impaired by drugs. Tony has already shared family secrets, and gotten policy advice from his nephew. So Chris is a security risk on two counts, and he has to go.

Why Tony killed Chris:
1. Tony has been through this with Chris already.
2. Drug addiction leads to all kinds of bad decisions, which Tony could not afford to risk, especially with Chris as his number-two.
3. Its easy for the Feds to bust someone for drugs - that's how they got Pussy and Adriana. Once they have him, they can flip him when he's in withdrawal.
4. Tony saw the stick through the car seat. If the baby had been in the car she'd have been dead because of Chris and his addiction.

I love the use of Floyd in this song. @1:58 you can tell Tony's mood is clearly reflective of the lyrics. "When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse, out of the corner of my eye" easily references Tony viewing Chris as his heir apparent circa season 4. "I turned to look and it was gone, I cannot put my finger on it now" easily references Chris's loss in drug addiction, "The child is grown, the dream is gone" is Tony seeing Chris is never going to be what he wants him to be, and it is gone.

When I first saw this, when Tony closed his phone, I remember thinking "holy shit, no he's not" lol. For some reason this scene was the most shocking to me. I expected Chrissy to make it to the series finale, but he was too much of a liability. I still don't think the fact that Christopher was high was the soul reason why Tony decided to kill him. Obviously the fact that Chrissy;s drug use could've possibly killed the baby is what sealed Chrissy fate.

It wasn't the drugs. Tony felt Chrissy was fantasizing his downfall through his movie "Cleaver". Is was after that movie that Tony realized how ungrateful Chrissy was and how much he despised him. So Tony was like: "why waste energy trying to save somebody who doesn't appreciate you?"
