I know I'm commenting a tad bit late. BUT you have to think about it the guy sounded really scared when he called. Really convincing. And I know they said the call was a fake but seeing he worked for a government controlled area releasing top secret information they either killed him or held him captive and had someone else call in and say it was a fake.

The caller was a area 51 employee and the area 51 dropped him about 1 week ago. He says he is on the run or something, as if.. he was dropped out because he tried to release the same secret? I guess, this is one of the ways he thought was the best to spread the secret/news, but not many people heard his message. I guess the government had control over signal lines and disconnected them, an agent was listening. I never heard from the caller again..
Supposedly another video claims the return call was someone else, as the voice was different. It also claimed the guy's name was Mike and he was found dead the next day

If I remember rightly... If you do some research you will learn this this call turned out to be a prank I think,
The caller rang back a few months later to let on it was a joke, if my memory serves me right. Still, it is weird out the show went down in mid call..
