Please see my other video about the Squier classic vibe Telecaster. It's chinese made and pretty good, especially considering the price. . But also there are great variations in quality. Test them all! May even be good for jazz... if you don't insist on that mellow jazzbox sound.

In that musical context you could make use of that little extra tonal quality, that acoustic touch that you get from the half hollowed-out body. The guitar is not, to my mind, a heavy rock or metal guitar. Lots of preamp distortion, very high volumes, over a lot of 4x12 speaker cabs? In that context a typical humbucker guitar of the Ibanez RG kind (or maybe the Gibson kind), maybe with EMG pickups, would make more sense. Anyway, the best would be to try it!

The question appears a little funny to me, since (electric) blues guitar is often associated with quite lot of distortion, or overdriven tube sound. Think of a small tube amp cranked way up - bluesy sound, right?! This kind of guitar is good for all levels of natural tube overdrive like would be availlable from classic tube amps of the 50s, 60s and 70s. It could excell in any musical context that asks for this kind of sound, that is, in a classic rock, southern rock or blues context.
