lol America likes to cast English guys as evil. Lots of American films have the main villain as an English guy. It's a stereotype thing, probably based on the accent, the perceived intelligence of posh english people etc... I don't really know.

Anway, American Idol is a really negative show, that only rewards 'kiss ass' people with generic voices. The judges are all horrible, condescending low lifes, with too much ego and money.

Other stuff that many people call music is laterally garbage. Let's look at todays top artists, Souljaboy? Little Wane? I'm not going through this, but it's "POPULAR" music is focusing on looks and NOT the talent of music. And most of all, American Idol isn't helping at all because people vote for the people with the best look, not the best "artist!"

I have to agree that simon can be a pain in the ass. But everything he says is the truth. And I don't know what it is but I never get bored of American Idol. I watched every episode this season. There really isn't that much else on tv that is good so American Idol is a great show just to sit down and watch. And 24 is my favorite show ever. I'm glad it is strong and still going. Season 7 of 24 is amazing. Fox has mainly good shows.

I have a friend who auditioned for it and actually, the audition you see on tv isn't the first one. They go through three preliminaries, then the tv audition. 3. Needs more different kinds of vocals like freestyleing, screaming or growling other than singing.

The first time i watched the judges bland preprogrammed responses i was like OMG its just like watching the show. In four responses each they sum up 8 seasons of judge comments and i found it hilarious

If I was desperate enough to try out for it and actually got in, I'd tear it down and make fun of it from the inside. i do remember Star search with Ed McMahon, that was a helluva lot better considering it included singers, comedians, and performers. American Idol is just one big product placement ad for mainstream commercial music and record companies like the Grammy Awards. They have absolutely zero credibility, and it's simply disposable entertainment. Barely any of the participants are unique or actually musical, most are just carbon copies of other lamer singers.

I love the show but I agree that the show has a lot of filler and gets pretty repetitive. The thing I hate most are the results shows. I don't even watch them because they are 55 minutes of filler before they tell you the results. That show could be done in 10 minutes easily.

I have said to people for years they need to change up the show. But all the changes they've done are small and haven't helped the show not drag on.

American Idol sucks I watched it the first two seasons but after that I stopped watching because it started getting played out.
