  • How about use a lid and less water? I think water is not always so readily available for some people.

  • I have a batch of this boiling right now thanks to you =)

I made it last year and it was great for the winter colds, but meanwhile I had forgotten the details of the recipe, so yesterday, when I realized I was coming up with a cold I knew what to do: buy ginger and go online xD

    Anyway, thanks =)

  • Salaams Karima, Thank you for sharing healing ginger syrup recipe. I use ginger for lots of healing from sore throat to nausea and more. Give my love to your children.

    Your friend from Dhahran, Rafath

  • Nice video. I am going to do the syrup today. P.s. Please, use a choping board

  • uh what would u use for a stye that keeps comming back and what would you use to keep it away?

  • Breed white girls make mixed race half a race babies exterminate the white race through breeding mixed people

  • Hi, great recipe, but i think you really should slice the ginger into thin bits. The water cannot posibly acces and wash out all the chemicals in that large chunks. And another thing: don't be so hasty when putting the honey into the warm wather, just wait until it cools down to nice 40-50 degrees C.

  • If you peeled the roots you could have had candied ginger, too.

  • Great Video! You're very intelligent woman. I'm going to try this. And, check out your website! If, I have any questions. Iis it okay to write you.

  • Hey, I am glad because of your video. Your instructions are clear, and fine. Thanks for that recipe. Could you drop some lines about making a ginger-jam (ginger-spread?). Keep doing, your work is very useful!

  • I wouldn't use a teflon/non-stick pan though. It's got very toxic chemicals.

  • @leftcoaster63 I agree. This was one of the first videos I did and I didn't plan very well. I just grabbed any pan just to make the video. Since then I've learned a lot about details in taking videos. Thank you :)

  • @leftcoaster63 Cool. Keep doing what you do!

    Love to ya....

  • Thanks! Great vid.

Can I put some of this syrup and water on kefir grains to make ginger ale? ... and how do you get 'fizzy' water otherwise to make the ginger ale from this syrup?

  • @ZawadiSimone yes, you could do this to make it fizzy. I usually just add some sparkling water do it.

  • when you boil the water down to half it's volume it's called "reducing" the stock or whatever you'r working with....also I think I would let it cool in the pot a little rather than take a chance on getting scalded when working alone like you were.....thanks for posting this video ...I'm going to try it.....

  • Hi there.

I loooove this recipe. I drink it everyday. My mom just caught me and she expressed her concerns about me drinking alot of fresh ginger as it is a spicy herb and she says I can get urine issues. Is this true? Is it safe to drink this everyday? I work in a place where we have our own soda fountain so I bring some in a jar and mix it with mineral water & lemon as well.

    Take care.

Oh I like mine with alot of honey. It taste like the Hall's Honey cough drops but much much better. Yum

  • you need a choping board and a pan, redneck.

  • Yehaw ;)

  • @netoec YOU are a very rude & disrespectful punk. Your mother must be very proud. Nice work Mom

  • Wooow! Thank you! :D

  • ETA: the ginger syrup in milk and the ginger 'gizer' from the comments sound pretty good, too :)

  • Great video really

Im fond of ginger syrup , I used to drink it with milk at Dr. Cafe shops

but now I ll do it myself

    alll my thanks dear

  • good recipe

  • I found a great ready made drink called "ginger 'gizer" made by The Ginger People. It's a wonderful pick-me up but a bit pricey at $3 for a 12 oz bottle so I read the ingredients to see about making my own. One ingredient is ginger syrup so this video came in really handy. FYI, the ingred. are filtered water, honey, ginger juice, lemon juice, apple juice concentrate, ginger syrup, freeze-dried ginger. I will have to play with proportions. This one is very gingery.

  • Thank you for sharing this. This sounds really good!

  • hey ginger martini sounds good can I have recipe pleeze

  • Yummm...just made some! Don't know if she'd approve but...it also makes a really good Ginger Martini! :-D

  • I like it very much.

How much we drink this everyday to prevent to catch cold, flu, or if you already catch cold, running nose, how much & how often to drink 2-3 times table spoon. How much is too much?

    Thank a lot

  • this is so great! i 'm gonna make a ginger run right now. thanks!

  • Sounds really good, Kristie. I love ginger.

  • Me too! Thank you for the comment!

  • So neat

  • I just made my first batch and am enjoying a glass of ginger ale right now! YUM!! What can I do with the cooked ginger root?

  • Hi!

I thank you very much for the video! It is very useful for me to see it been done as I am not the best cook. It helps me getting over the fear of starting! :-) I hope your son is better now! Take care!

I wish you the best health for you and your family!

  • thanks for the great descriptive video! I never saw the spoon trick before, how does it prevent the glass from breaking?

  • The stainless steel attracts the heat and so the shock does not all go to the glass...at least that is what I think happens. Anyone else have a more scientific reason?

  • @esaloom The spoon thing isn't worth doing. I make preserves all the time, the setting point of jam is 104C and I have never had a jar break on me. It may be necessary for the fine glass cups used for coffee in the middle east, but is certainly not necessary for preserve jars or bottles.

  • Hi Kristie!

Aww this is such a cute video! I'd love to see you do more.

I didn't catch how much honey to put in. I thought you said to fill the jar with honey? That seemed like a LOT of honey to me. Is that right? You had the little bear squeeze bottle of honey - it seems to me you'd have to use the entire bottle plus some to fill that jar, is that correct?

Please do some more videos! *hugs* Lisa

  • Thank you for the encouragement. Really you can put honey 1:1 or you can put less honey. I was supposed to add more honey to fill the jar but then I liked it a little more gingery than sugary so I left it that way. It has been good the past few days to have fresh gingerale. I am trying to think of which one to do next...hmmm....any requests?

  • Your video is great, Kristie! I can't wait to make some of my own ginger syrup to have on hand. Thanks!

  • Thank you for commenting. I am very happy that some people are using this recipe! It is SO useful and homemade Gingerale is a GREAT alternative to chemical filled sodas as well so I hope this benefits a lot of people.

    Blessings & Health,

    K

  • Wonderful video. I am going to make some in the morning!!

  • Thank you for your comment! Tell me how it goes :) - K
