@TheFilmCollectorDude Actually, CBS never aired it (or any of season 2 for that matter). This aired in first-run syndication (and I think Cartoon Network) where the censors didn't care if anyone saw it. Where I lived, season 2 of The Mask aired on a local station called Channel 48 as part of their BKN (Big Kids Network) line-up.
Funny you should say that, since this episode of The Mask was from the syndicated weekday line-up (also whatever line-up Cartoon Network had it in). This episode--and season 2 in general--NEVER saw a Saturday morning showing (as opposed to seasons one and three of The Mask, which did)
Kevin Michael Richardson voiced Mayor Tilton (and the Joker from "The Batman". Mark Hamill voiced The Joker on Batman: TAS [it was supposed to be Tim Curry, but they thought he would be too scary]).
This show has a LOT of familiar voice actors. With Kevin Michael Richardson, Jim Cummings, Tress MacNeille, not to mention Rob Paulsen, whom stars as Stanley and The MASK!
Yeah way! but what I really want to sit in for is Batman the Animated Series. Mark Hamil, Arleen Sorkin, and KEVIN CONROY! =D or the Animaniacs. <3 omfg I freaking love the cartoons of my childhood. ^^
It's Kevin Michael Richardson. He's a well-known black voice actor. Usually he voices black guys who are either fat and goofy (AJ's Dad on Fairy Oddparents) or fat and serious (the principal on American Dad), but there are some exceptions (Exile the Siberian Husky on Road Rovers is one).
It wasn't really banned in America (except on FOX Family). It was shown in syndication (and probably when Cartoon Network America aired it. I'm surprised the Cartoon Network/Boomerang channels in Australia and England would air this episode, considering that their censorship is tighter than America's).
A lot of season two episodes had Stanley wearing the mask the entire time: Mr. Mask Goes to Washington, Convention of Evil, Future Mask, The Green Marine...actually that's it.
i loved watching this when i was little!, i remember watching every single episode and wondered whether you could get them on dvd anywhere, thanks soo much for uploading this valentin363! xD
actually FirstClassHeel, you can get them in an official DVD release. Although it only featued the first two episodes(one episode but two parts). it also came with Son Of The Mask in a deal with Wal-mart. But you can still get it on Ebay.
This is a season two episode. The season two episodes of The Mask didn't air on CBS like seasons one and three did; season two aired in syndication (it was shown on local channels and even appeared on Cartoon Network [the American version] back when it aired old Looney Tunes shorts and Hanna Barbera shows, like The Flintstones, Top Cat, The Jetsons, this obscure 1970s cartoon sitcom called Wait Til Your Father Gets Home, Magilla Gorilla, etc).
The season two episodes had a lot of episodes that focused on The Mask more than Stanley (besides, he's getting ready for the Coco Bongo karaoke contest).
The original mask was called Big Head and appeared in a graphic novel. It was waaaay more adult, with extreme violence and everything. The series has obviously been toned down for kids tv but it's nice to see it's retained some adult touches (suicide bomber strippers)
i think stanley has what it takes, like singing, acting and dancing and stuff but he cant do those cuz he is well suitable for children. but he wears the mask, gives him courage and stuff, and magical powers aswell, am i right?
He's silly but I think Jim Carey was (is) great. And all of those films had god awful sequels without Carey. Yes, they're making an Ace Ventura 3 based on "his son". God damn it, what is with this weird trend? Including Evan Almightly that's now 4 crappy Carey-less sequels.
You saw part two of this, I'm guessing (cuz that's where you find out The Mask is only saving everyone from Cookie BaBoom because the Mayor has his feather [what's really twisted is HOW the Mask does it]).

thelittlebiggerman09 3 years ago
That wasn't a Swedish town; to me, it looked Swiss (and Switzerland does have German as one of its languages).
And anyway, a lot of TV shows and movies don't get ethnicities right (that's not a racial burn, so don't vote me down).

Dude!
I have issue 0.
It's so sad.
Ipkiss dies, Kellaway wear the mask at the end (not really the end, but after Kathy Kiss Ipkiss.)
And what pissed me off is that the mask itself could talk to him.
TyrantVideosInc 3 years ago
Ipkiss was kind of an asshole though (in the graphic novel).
That said, I absolutely love what he does to those two guys in at the car mechanics.
timothypillowcase92 3 years ago
True, but it's under the mask's influence.
TyrantVideosInc 3 years ago
Still, Kellaway doesn't go around murdering people when he's wearing the Mask.
