  • this is hundred percent Russian grace and 150% technique :)

  • Perfetta!

  • Her arms are like water.

  • Simply SUBLIME! Her dancing is perfect, more than beautiful but at the same time really painful, very dramatic.

  • Honestly, she's better than Makarova, than Foteyn, and much better than Plisetskaya in my opinion. She has the emotional and visceral quality to her dancing, and she is still so young (Fonteyn only got the emotional quality in her 40s,at the end of her career).I only wish she would do more international performances, but who can blame her, with a little daughter? Brava,Ulyana!

  • @tismurdis I love her too, but still I hesitate to put her up with those three legends yet - only time will tell. However, I saw her Nikiya at the weekend and consider her to be peerless amongst her generation. There was no sign of any loss of technique or suppleness: Nikiya does not call for great elevation which, perhaps, is her only weaker area. Her whole Kingdom of the Shades was a miracle of other-worldly beauty and refinement. To see her again meant a very great deal to me.

  • A rare combination of technical capability, lyricism, and musicality. In my opinion, she is the most deserving of prima assoluta of this ballet generation.

  • @camille32087I agree. Also, Lopatkina's acting is wonderfully subtle, reaching into the audience with never any histrionics: she is the Meryl Streep of ballet. Her every gesture corresponds to the varying tempi of the music - from the slow, elegaic movements at the start of the variation through the sudden flurry of bourrees across the diagonal into the joyful dance with the basket of flowers. And to see those wondrous once-in-a-lifetime arms is worth any admission price.

  • @camille32087. No doubt, IMO, that she is still Queen of the Mariinsky ballerinas and by logical extension Queen of all ballerinas everywhere. However, the years are gaining on her - she is 38 - and it is clear now (2011) that the physically demanding classical roles are more difficult for her than they were even a few years ago.To whom will she pass the crown? Tereshkina, Somova or some other emerging talent?

  • her dancing is so pure. she dances with her heart

  • Пожалуй-лучшая Никия до сих пор!Эталон

  • Она прекрасна и трогательна
