  • We just came back from South Africa ( in a beautifull place called 'Wildebees lodge') and had a Rainspider in our shower. Is scared the h*ll of the kids. A kind neighbour cought it in a friendly way: in a towel and than taking it outside.

  • my Mum lived in Zimbabwe as a teen and she said that these would allways come inside but completly harmless

  • I live in SA and these spiders are not harmless at all, but when they bite you it REALLY hurts.

  • That's a cute ass spider.

  • This type of spider always seems to be crawling across my ceiling and always seems to jump on me...Luckily im not scared of spiders....But for some reason they always jump strait down off my ceiling...lol

  • Carebear spiders. trololololollol

  • HOLY S**t!

  • i heard about this earlier, this south african guy was telling me that the spider is attracted to heat and particularly body heat and it's likely to wake up to one cuddling up to you in bed. well maybe not cuddling. but they are almost like "nice" and "friendly" spiders...

  • OMG! IT'S GONNA EAT YOU!!! AHHHHH!!!

  • OH MY GOD, is that a stain on the wall?

  • ... GIT DA SHOTGUN MA!

  • my dad would flip out...he's terrified of spiders...so am i -.-'

  • i thought those things were only from south africa, i have one as a pet

  • @snipeyonuts23 nah brah they are in other countries like Australia and New Zealand. Their correct name is huntsman spiders and we only call them rain spiders in SA. I havnt been to aussie but i think they grow even bigger there!

  • lol thanks for the vid, comes in handy when youre telling people about SA :)

  • dude if i saw one i would piss myself and shoot it with a 9mm

  • wow! big!

  • I would piss my pants if this was in my house.

  • i hate those things. when i used to live in sa theyd come in from time to time and poor me would shit myself and run away crying. not poisonous but theyre fucking huuuge

if i ever see one of those things i think i'm just gonna fall back and die on the spot :| and i'd be happy to do so! :'3

  • this is why i hate spiders lol i dont even know why i watch this lol

  • I couldn't watch more than 10 seconds

  • I went to SA last year, and was staying in a tent...I had one of these above my head but thankfully it wasn't as big as that one... it was probably the circumference of a mug. Still....scared the hell out of me! I'm terrified of spiders!!!!

  • i had one very similar in my room. a bit smaller and the legs appeared more slender. sadly we had to dyant it to take it outside (they move so fast) but it appeared to have survived

  • haha.

i lived in SA for 16 years and i have never seen a spider that big.

though I did live in an actual house, not a tent

  • hehe, he's just aimlessly walking around looking what's going on...:)

  • I´m happy to say: I didn´t met such a spider in 6 weeks SA!!! Horrible!!!

  • Oh dear god.

  • primal fear!!!!

  • I don't get it, Thats not scary. And i'm not dissing you for your vid, I just don't see whats so scary about it, it aint that big, it not much bigger than the huntsman spiders we get here in South Australia.

  • i was in SA for 3 weeks recently and we met a fair few rain spiders, it can be quite unnerving when u wake up every morning with a huge rain spider on the roof of your tent! i have no idea howthey got in!

  • we had 3 of them in 4 nights in our lodge in kosi bay, SA

Harmless and great to look at!

Just a girlfriend, waking you up "eeeek! theres another one" all night long -armed with a flashlight- can be quite annoying :)

  • what country is that?

    plz dont say scotland!!!

  • south africa. you're safe just don't wear a kilt if you come visit:)
