ive been playing for 8 or nine years, and played with bluegrass bands blues bands and jazz bands. And have been listening to harmonica players forall my life. And i really hate to end it all like this,,,but i think this is the best harmonica i have ever heard.
I have the album with this song on it (Bahamut), but until I saw this I had no idea that "Lost Fox Train" was Wade Schuman all by himself. Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
Has anyone been able to reproduce what he does from 0:20 to 0:44 ? I know it's a harmonica in the key of A but I have difficulty copying him. So if anyone can replicate that, let me know how you did it.
a friend of mine played me their record last night and i was blown away. then i see that their myspace page sport 'the legendary shack shakers' among their topfriends - which happened to be the group i recommended him in response. i thought that was pretty funny...
Wade Schuman...wow, this guy is just amazing. He always makes my jaw drop in amazement. This is one of the best harmonica performances I've ever heard.
This is the sort of performance that makes non-harp players want to pick it up, and makes harp players want to put it down. I love his integration of the tradition and history of the instrument into the performance. A history lesson within a jaw-dropping performance. Stunning.
Just saw their superb performance at the International Music Fest in Chicago. They are extremely talented and a lot of fun to watch. A must-see if you have the opportunity.
I saw how he performed this song yesterday. it was amazing! and the crowd really went crazy... believe it or not, people were dancing to their music, it was such a great performance! You must see them perform on stage!
Anybody who knows anything about harmonica--not least the tradition of fox chase and train songs--knows that this is worth six and a half stars. An inside the park home run, this one.
I want him and the guy from Bela Fleck to do a mind blowing set!

The blues master Willie Brown could make the train talk with his harmonica in the movie "Crossroads." Wade Schuman can make it dance!
