However when you compare both in Europe La Liga is better because they do well in the Champions League AND the Europa League. I still cant believe some people say the premier league is better. barca within the last 5 years has made all semi final champions league appearances as well as winning it 2 times. THe Europa league which is the 2nd best tournament in europe since 2004 has seen 4 spanish champions. Valencia 03-04, Sevilla 05-06, Sevilla 06-07, Athletico Madrid 09-10.
The national team just won a euro cup and world cup. Barca has also won a club world title.
So how is the english league better?

However when you compare both in Europe La Liga is better because they do well in the Champions League AND the Europa League. @Kevo193 Rafael barely fouled Ribery. it was a bad call and Byerns players behaviour added to it. Barca r favoured by the refs. its not one game people r talking abt. its happened in so many games. Abidal shud have been sent off as well by ur judgement for holding RVP's throat. why wasnt Messi booked near the end vs Madrid. when Busquests dived vs Madrid the ref let play go on and didnt book him. why? Barca get too many bad calls in their favour than bad. thats the point. why?

@khalood7scottlandi Haha yea ok beleive what you want about Ribery, even the biased english commentators said Rafael was an idiot. Ref stole 3 goals from Barcelona against Arsenal, and let madrid play rugby against them. To say the ref is with them is just plain stupid.

@Kevo193 ya, Rafael was an idiot but the sending off was very harsh and thus unfair. Real played negative football but they didnt use dirty tactics like Barca. Di Maria went to ground a little easy but i didnt see them feigning injuries and trying to get players sent off as much as the Barca players were trying to do e.g Busquets, Dani Alves, Pedro, and not to mention they constantly surrounded the referee. I love United but as a neutral the "clasico" was bad 4 football.

@khalood7scottlandi Harsh and unfair are 2 separate things. Anyway i will agree that mourinho has ruined these 4 classicos and is ruining Spanish football. Hope he leaves back to boring Italian football.

@Kevo193 ya Real ruined it, but so did Barca. it was a HUGE dissapointment. if Tottenham played Arsenal in champions league semis u would 99% of the time see an excellent exciting match, played with a reasonably good spirit. but this clasico was a bad example of la liga.

Everyone, well the english say that the premier league is the biggest in the world, and it is - as a business. But in no way is it the league with the most quality. Arsenal FC it's my favorite team in England and Real Madrid it's my favorite club team in the world, but even though we are rivals I have to admit that watching Barcelona play it's a pleasure, no team plays better than Barcelona FC, the only team that might come close to them it's Manchester United, but Barcelona are a step above everybody ,with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi plus the other super stars make them an incredible team.
