Sorry to say it but toilets in the States should be more heavy duty than in other countries because you guys really do have a massively (excuse pun!) disproportionate amount of fatties (& I mean REALLY FAT, many lbs beyond overweight) in your population than any other country that either I or my parents have visited..& between us, there's not too many places that we have not visited..& most of the places that we haven't visited have quite the opposite problem, with famine, starvation, etc..

(murders, serious charges, etc go to a higher court). People are paid to have the details of their cases on this tv show, but that doesnt mean the cases are fake. If the cases were fake, why would they use a real judge? if the cases were fake, then how come his show aired an art theft criminal who was later jailed?

I can't believe Judge Judy was so biased in the D's favor! She had one mental image of what had happened and didn't bother pressing the 'D' at all! Hell, she CUT the defendant off to tell the defendant what she thought happened rather than even once tryign to get the defendant to tell her story (and trip up on it).
Without pictures, it's hard to be sure - but this toilet may well have been improperly used and thus subjected to greater stress than it should have to handle.

I don't know how much probing she could do. Some cases are simply simple, no probing necessary.

Let say if you drink tea ouf of this porcelain cup everyday, and one day, the handle came off just because you had pour milkshake on it. She should only be liable for the value of a 10 yeard toilet, not a brand new one. I rememberr a similar case on the Old People's Court with Judge Wapner. A person ruined a TV, which was quite old. They were found liable for the value of the OLD TV, found that they didn't have to buy a brand new one.

Sorry but I love and watch Judge Judy almost every day but I totally disagree with her opinion
on this case. I had a co-worker over twenty years ago who was a 400 pound FEMALE and
she sat on and BROKE not one but TWO office toilets in one month. Guess what? The owner
rightfully deducted the cost of BOTH toilets from her paycheck and not a further word was
spoken. Back then people were ASHAMED to be this obese, unhealthy, and unfit.
If I were ever fat like that, I would be ashamed to go outside!

Also, I work at a hospitasl. I have cared for patients fae bigger than this lady. I have seen patients, 500-600 pounds sit on toilets, and have never seen a toilet break, even with that weighty.
