I really like what I have seen on this post/s. Interested in more information on the ford 9" conversion and what went with it to make it work......any information will be appreciated as my understanding is the gen-1 cts-v has a fragile trans-back system.....currently looking at gen-2 v-6's with manual for upgrade, but seek stealth and like the grill of gen-1 cts-v.
@jritch89 - While I appreciate the "young boys" comment, I'm 33. Yes I paid for it. Did you even read the stuff I wrote about selling this car because I had a baby on the way? I "fucking hate" when people jump to conclusions. Btw, that sort of yard speak is exactly what "young boys" do.
Guys grow up this is Caddy, supposed to sophisticated, silent and carry a big stick. Anyone can put loud mufflers on a car, it takes talent to make ‘em QUIET and run… We have an 09 CTS-V with a crate 7.0 and a sump conversion, CNC ported heads, a ZR 1 camshaft, pulley, the blower inlet has been opened up, forged pistons, upgraded rods, a programme with the limiters removed, 717 hp at the tires (on the dyno) and is as quiet as stock with a mandrel bent cut and weld exhaust 3.5”
everytime u start this engine maybe it wud make the baby cry :P
But yea imo the idle is a too loud for my taste. I want something queit and then when you pass like 3-4k the engine roars. sorta like ISF. But right now I need something cheap like an ls6 ctsv.
Comparing a stock CTS-V to this car is like comparing a Honda Civic to a Porsche 911... and I'm not knocking the stock V. But in perspective it's comparably a grocery getter versus a race car.
When I say I got rid of it because of having a baby it was more about safety issues. This car was literally unsafe to drive on a day to day basis. At 30-40% throttle in 3rd gear the back end kicked out.
Aside from that, I could just envision a baby throwing up on the beautiful swaaaade seats.
I got my v (because) we were having a "baby". I don't understand why you need to get rid of this. I did have a two seater this car suits me just fine. My v is still my baby. I'm ashamed of people like you who act like the women rule your life and make "sacrifices". You only live once brother.
Yeah, the LS7 engine is the 2006+ C6 Z06 (7.0L 427 ci) engine. As he said though this one is a (7.5L 457 ci) custom engine which is really awesome. That thing must fly :)
Yes and no. The 04 and 05 models came with the 5.7l LS6 engine, the same one in my Corvette Z06 producing 405hp. The 06 and 07 models came with the 6.0l LS2 from the base Corvette producing 400hp. To my knowledge there were no 2008 models, although there could have been cars made then and kept as a 2007 or something. In 2009 they came out with the supercharged 6.2L LSA, which is similar to the LS9 in the Corvette ZR1, but only shares about 25% of the parts. The LS7 was never offered though.
yes, the non ls7 intake and non dry sump make my really question if this is actually an ls7.... and 475RWHP from a modded LS7? that seems really low, even through a 9"
It would all depend on the bore vs stroke. Considering that the stock LS7 is already at a maximum bore, the increase over stock displacement would all have to be in the stroke, which means the engine would not be able to rev quite as high, and being that horsepower is nothing more than a mathmatical equation of torque and rpm, would explain the lower hp number. According to his claim, he has about 10% more torque than stock.

Did you fabricate the exhaust yourself or contract an exhaust shop to do it for you?

b. s. no dry sump set up..... or ls7 style intake
leemer200 1 year ago
@leemer200
Very observant. You need to watch the other video where I do a walk around the car.
LS7 based motor swap
L92 heads
L76 Intake
For what it's worth, the LS7 is "only" a 7.0 liter/427ci as well. This motor is a 457ci/ 7.5(ish)
A crate LS7 motor is $15k and anyone dumb enough to swap one into a car worth about that much is an idiot.
