  • fajna ścianka :)

  • I agree with him, he definately needs runnung over!

  • The twat in the hat needs runnung over!

  • at 2:18 how on earth does it just sit there!? without sliding slightly!

    only in a landie

  • I need to try this on my '95 geo tracker

  • Any 4x4 with lockers front and rear and a decent set of tires would be able to do this. It's not JUST Land Rovers.

  • @yodwinder You ignorant fool... go ahead and try that in your "any 4x4"!!!

  • I'm buying one of these the se, can't afford the discovery 4 yet just hope it's as good as everyone makes out.

  • As they say, the Best 4x4 by Far! Simple

  • Good BGM!

  • dude you steering wheel is on the wrong side.

  • wish it was better video quality but great video.

  • It's a great offroad vehicle, but to say it's the "best" is a real reach. First we have to define what we mean by offroad vehicle. Do we mean stock? Modified? Street legal? Something that has rubber tires vs. rubber tracks? Assuming we define "vehicle" as something that you can drive on the road legally, the "best" offroad vehicle is the one that can be most readily built up and modified for offroad use, and it's dubious that LR would claim that title.

  • Land Rovers are Kings of 4x4 !!! This video is for TOYOTA losers !!!!

  • @ 2:07 the trees in the background are growing upright leading me to believe that there was no tricks used

  • spider car spider car dose what ever a normal car cant cuz it grips to a wall

  • 1:55-2:06 from the bottom shows this as it is...a fairly steep but completely climbable rock face. As of 2:07, the hill is mysteriously much much much steeper than it was from the bottom. If it was that steep, it would be apparent from the bottom angle as well. I have to see this thing one day.

  • Not so inclined, but did with no throutle....I just love Landy....hehehe

    Regards from Brazil

  • Discovery kills the Prado. In the vid Prado did it with a lot of throutle....with difficulty. The Disco did it easy, stopping and going....and teaching Toyota how to do. :-)

  • I saw this vid and went out and bought a disco. Fantastic all rounder just heavy on the fuel but a price well worth paying. I'm havin an affair with my land rover:-)

  • will the freelander 2 do it

  • Land~Rover - the BEST 4 X 4 X Far - NO CONTEST!

  • @Vitesse1971 In Deed.

  • This is REAL off-roading !

    Not for kids and girls...

If you just want to go to shopping ... get a Toyota or a Jeep.

  • This is still the best hill climb vid on youtube. Awesome!

Does anyone know what tyres were on the Disco? Cos I want some. Wouldn't mind the balls of the driver, either.

  • @imjohntins they look like bf goodrich all terrain but not sure, zoom is too far out

  • a good driver in the good car:)

  • Hmm. Amazing yes, but he's got front and rear differential locks and running aired down offroad tires on 18" wheels. A 2010 LR4 or range rover won't fit anything smaller than 20" wheels with offroad tires (they don't make offroad 19" tires), then the sidewall is too short to air them down. The rear diff lock is an option, but they don't offer front diff lock from the factory. So this Land Rover is very different than when it rolled off the lot.

  • @ldmcnutt you have no idea!

  • @simogl1 Actually, I do. I own a 2010 Range Rover sport with 2.5" lift and 32" tires on 20" wheels. I don't have the differential lock and have have it stuck in mud, sand and snow and have drug it out from both the front and rear recovery hooks. I'm not saying the RRS is a weak off-roader, but it's no where near as capable as the one in this video because I can't air the tires down as much as with 18" wheels and I only get traction from 2 wheels.

  • Of course friend. Toyota Prado was a big 4X4 here in Venezuela over 10 years ago... But, the question is: Can you compare a prado and any land rover???

  • amazing... Land Rover Rlz!!!

  • Great Clip!

  • No Cruiser could do that.

  • Off-roading even

  • I agree this is impressive but the thing that stops me buying a disco for offloading is that the guys who live in these areas have a Toyota...deserts, outback they all use the land cruiser. Just an observation

  • @bigbertha98 Yup, Land Cruisers make Land Rovers look like sports cars, they're far superior off the road, and I own a Def 110 and several Land Cruisers.

  • mdaa... fantastic de bine!!!

  • woo... so good!

  • Kobe & Discovery 3 = Gravity-haters :)

  • Some rovers are good off road there no denying that. However, the reliability issue on the newer models are the real problem.

  • @jdomes Yeah very true. My neighbor had a 08 proper Range Rover and the air compressor had a mind of its own and would always lower and higher at the most random times. Also, the electric's were messed up too. Im scared to buy one because I dont wanna get a lemon.

  • Bit of clutch smoke when he stops on the rock! This is impressive, but the Prado does it just as easily.

  • never rated disco 3 until i saw this vid ,they look so wrong with there i was designed by a 3 year old with wooden blocks look.but theres no doubt when there runnin rite LR are still king

  • got to be kidding me.... it stops and at 229 crawls up again just like that.... i want one of those

  • @imoque I rewatched it a few times, I think its partly the camera angle. The hill is not as steep as it appears. If you compare the view at 2:00 then look at the angle at 2:15 you will see how it appears to be very different in angle, yet its still the same hill.

  • @kevintomb You better believe the angle is not a camera illusion. See accident@moegatle!!

  • @MoOse9232 I know its steep, but its NOT as steep as it looks. Ive shot videos just like this and tilting the camera merely a tiny bit makes the recorded video appear to be much steeper than it is. You do realize the maximum angle in degrees the disco can transverse? Its limited by center of gravity.

  • these landrovers are the bast cars ever for a fantastic 4x4 experiance nothing can beat them go go landrover!!!

  • Хуйле, надо было сразу на 90 градусов заезжать. Этож Ренжик! )

  • Jesus thats steep! I've seen so many vids of jeeps rolling off back wards doing that ahha

  • hijo de puta saca a los niños de atras si vuelcas que pasaria... sinverguenza.despues vienen las lamentaciones

  • USED,IN THE PAST! because they are cheap. If you know a bit, you should also know that Australians are replacing all of their Defenders with Mercedes G wagens. About 1500 of them. So did the Canadians. When it comes to strength ,durability, quality and ability G always wins

  • @dragoin007

Land Rover did not tender for the latest ADF contract since the ADF wanted someone to supply them with medium and heavy trucks as well 4x4s.

  • what do you do if it flips backwards on a steep hill like that? that's scary as hell

  • that hill climb takes some SACK, looks like it could tip over lol

  • Driver: woops this hill is too high for a man made vehicle to climb!

Oh no wait, this is a Land Rover *FULL THROTTLE*

  • Land Rovers just put a smile on my face everyday. I own this same LR3 2008. I am truly proud.

  • im gona buy one now!!!!!!

  • what song is that?

  • I get that you have never seen a Mercedes G wagen whilst off roading.

Why do you think most armies use only G wagen.

  • @dragoin007 why you do think most armies used land rover defenders? video speaks for itself

  • Great Vid, which tires are you using and at what pressure? Excellent driving skill.

  • id rather stick with my jeep.

  • @NavalSpecialWarfare Okay but make sure your differential doesn't fall off on the high way.

  • love land rovers... mines nearly 40 years old yet it does things with ease most 4x4's wouldnt even try......

  • Bet the clutch loved that hill start

  • @adam0900909 i bet it´s automatic ;)

  • Way to go to get crushed brown shirt! :)

  • bought a land cruiser? bahahahahaha

  • great off road car!!!

  • I like girls.

  • Can tow 7500lbs+, carry 7 passengers, can go in Siberia and desert, can go to night clubs and soirée and climb a wall!!!

WOW, that's a Land Rover for sure. THE BEST ALL AROUND

  • i love this proof that landrover are the best 4x4xfar

  • i think this is one of the most beautiful offroad vid ever , i will buy discovery 3 next mounth and i 'll put the vid on yt

  • Reminds me of the start to the old batman show. I was waiting for someone to walk past the thing upright.

  • Реально экстремально и я бы даже подумал ехать или нет

  • wow alot of haters commenting here!!...my jeep this or my jeep that, sure wranglers are great off road but do they ever suck on the pavement!!..noisy and feels really unstable while a disco/LR3 gets u to the trails in comfort and still capable getting thru them! not everyone is an extreme rock crawler mud bogger

  • I can't believe it.. at 2:37 it is like 45 degrees and the vehicle does not slide down considering the lose dirt he's on. i think maybe there might be some camera tilt here to exaggerate the angle of the hill.

  • @leethebug I dont believe the is any camera tilt, if you look at the trees in the back ground they are upright just like they would normally be.

  • @bikerboykris yeah, you're right but nobody stops like that in a middle of an almost vertical climb... must be sticky tires and a low-cg 4x4. and yes, tsogwe is not loose dirt but rock.

  • so for 30000 less you can build a jeep that flex's better, more durable, and doesn't have damn air bags? nice rig but i would ruin that pait job first run out!

  • its amazing what even a fully independent truck can do with some traction. i wish more people in the states would grow a pair and wheel their late models. buncha rich pansies....

  • damn land rover is off road king!

  • lol at the spotters....STOP!!!!!! i need to take a photo.

  • nice where is this?

  • i am sorry but he drives like shit

  • very impressed but why is that man trying to push and pull you at the beginning lol as if you need help ~_0.

  • Let us hear the engine/wheel spin etc.

If i wanted to hear that offspring shit i would have typed in Offspring not landrover!!!

No More Music in youtube vids!!

  • BAD FUCKIN ASS

  • AWESOME!

    I (L) Land-Rover!!!

  • I've climbed that hill in my 04 Prado - and cuda2266 - it IS that steep!!

  • there is a video of a toyota lc prado climbing that hill aswell. very steep

  • FUCK I MISS MY BABY

  • amazing hill climb angle on disco's these days....thats impressive

  • Land Rover Disco, the BEST 4x4 by far, not just on tar, offroad 2. I'm a Ford fan but I'm considering to buy a D2/3.

  • haha! i wanna see jeep try this!

  • @purp700 I have owned both and both will do this with, its all about who driving.... and the lr3 is much easier

  • That was simply amazing... :D

  • probably the scariest off road obstacle i have ever seen, i love offspring

  • that is the most impressive video i have seen on the offroad capabilities of the Disco 3 ! Well done !

  • I am seriously impressed!

  • @mgospeed31 wonder how the RRC would fair here? i'm not too sure about the steep hill though, i think alittle tilt on the camera as the Disco starts it's accent makes it look alot steeper than it is, but still a killer hill

  • 2:15 SUUPERRRRR

  • Comment removed

  • Die Disco's raak al mooier en al beter...een van die dae kan hulle saam met die SFA Hi-luxe kom ry!

  • who plays this song?

  • offspring

  • im guessing all you people are american and have no idea or just hate the hought that there is better 4x4 than the hummer well im sorry but they are the best and always will be and if you knew anything about 4x4 you wouldnt be amazed they do this shit with ease be they are built buy the british

  • one of the best offroad no doubt, but they do have a nasty habit of breaking down......allot!

  • AAAA! Incredible. Can I borrow your spotter?

  • damn those things just have no wheel travel at all, but that automatic traction control or whatever it is, would seem to make it more of a capable unit than the defender which doesnt have lockers or automatic traction control as standard, correct me if im wrong, anyone with thoughts on this?

  • New defender gets traction control as standard now. But traction wise the Disco 3 system is better than the Defender's.

I also think the wheel travel is deceptive as unlike beam axles the wheels don't change angle as they articulate. Looking at the specs, original disco had 20inch flex, current has 24.

  • that was impressive !!

  • love it!

  • Nice. What is the roof rack on this Discovery?

  • WTF - at 2:09 when he conducts a hill stop you can see how light the front wheels are when he stops, looks like you could put a finger under the front bar and flip the D3 backwards.

At 2:27 I am amazed to see how well it does a stationary hill start with the front wheels feathering so lightly onto the rocks as it creeps forward - Check it!

    Fire Power.

  • that HAD to be an auto to be able to do a hillstop like that and not roll backwards or to spin the tyres like crazy.

  • @wassupgeo well,i think the traction control would be the cause for that, but still, chances are that its most likly auto.

  • it's pulling the whole hill while offroad-ing. that's what disco's all about. at the same time, good car

  • it goes...

  • it kinda kills it for me to watch "team" offroading, I grew up in the country and my first car was a cj7 with 33.5 inch tires. I drove that thing all over all kinds of terrain all the dang time. Granted, may not have been the smartest thing, but half of driving offroad is the driver figuring out how to do it, not having guys who aren't even riding in your ride directing you all over the trail. Just doesn't seem as exciting to me. I do want an lr3 though

  • ive gone off roading with my 99 5.9l durango and even when it has plenty of power to go up any hill ass soon as one tire comes off the ground im going no where.

This video was very impressive IM SOLD. My daily driver is an AUDI Quattro i wonder if it has this same technology.

  • So what kind of 4x4 do you have? Part or Fulltime 4x4?

  • its a full time 4wd system, that opperate in full time awd, like quattro. But unlike the quattro you have a center diff lock, when locked it just like 4x4 high and 4x4 low(when low range is engaged),though unlike most permanat 4wd systems you use low range without locking the center.

  • It does not no..audi's quattro 4WD system is extremely different to landrovers terrain response 4WD system. Both extremely good in their own ways..audi's is more designed for road holding whereas landrovers is designed to totally excel off road

  • is good

  • Wow that guy has balls (last part)

  • This video would make someone buy a whole line of land rovers. Such great 4x4s

  • @Blitz4000 Yeah, show the other end of it. Waiting for the tow truck whilst broken down, fighting with dealers, selling your own body parts for Land Rover parts.

  • @Blitz4000 Prado's can do this to..

  • @danoconnell427 Toyota Prado??? show me...

  • @BLAZKOWICZZ Haven't you ever herd of a Prado??? Your got to be kidding!! It's only like the top selling 4wd in Australia!! haha

  • @BLAZKOWICZZ this video is the response of prado,s video u can ckeck it out

  • I would have to be drunk to go up that last part wow was it steep.

  • i love real offroad vehicle thaat is even better by using technology

  • Nice video!

First i enjoyed the offroad rides at the backseat of my dads Landy and now in my own Landy!!!

    The best 4x4xfar!!!

  • 1:17 kid in the backseat enjoying the ride lol!!

  • LR3 are good, but alot of expensive technology to go wrong. my 10 year old td5 discovery2 can do that and the only microchip on it is for the radio!

  • same here nice cars arent they!, r u sure? i thought it had some sort of traction control inbuilt like the new ones? which is why they have diff-lock which isnt connected? also do u know of places where u can take ur car along and go off-roading?

  • No it can't If you have a the front left and the rear right wheel of the ground (as in this clip) your TD5 will spin the two remaining wheels and you'll go nowhere, even with diff lock engaged. The D3 or LR3 uses traction control with the diff lock to lock the free spinning wheels and send power to the two that are on the ground. Upgrade to a D3! It's a world of difference

  • buy and install proper diff locks front and rear in a defender TD5 and you'll be set :)

  • fuckerinio jeep

  • I knew they were good but not that good, LR prove them selves once again

  • To put things in perspective as land rover qualified instructor, the independent suspension is cross linked so when one wheel goes up it forces the opposite one down, emulating beam axles but without the clearance problems. It has a brilliant tc system and will go on road tyres where you need mud tyres on a standard defender or jeep. At Eastnor castle hill is about 40 deg, it walks down it easily under control and will actually stop and reverse back up! This is on a very loose surface

  • do u know of any places where u can take ur own car along and go off-roading? i live in gloucestershire. Thanks

  • great stuff. What tyres are being used?

  • Range Rover prove itself again!

  • the fact that a car can get traction on a rock like that with a hill that steep and the hp to stop and start to move it back up is amazing.

  • ТАНК !!! КРАСАВЕЦ !!!

  • True Offroading vehicle

  • Thats just how we do it in SA!!!

  • 4 SHOOOOOO!!!

  • what is the name of the song please:D

  • think its "keep em separated" by the offspring

  • its actually "come out and play"

  • i stand corrected

  • Oh shit that rock was almost a vertical wall.

  • The camera angle exaggerates the climbing angle.....

  • False - trees are always perfectly vertical in the background.

  • Observe that the trees in background are pointing straight up. They always grow in the opposite direction of gravity. If the camera was indeed exaggerating the angle, then the trees in the background would appear slanted. So no camera tricks here.

  • Nice climb but i couldn't trust an electronic hand brake.

  • That hill climb was ridiculous! Really impressed with the Rover's abilities and that driver has some kahonies! Nicely done.

  • well i think that land rover was pretty impressive and im a to the bone jeep guy....there are certain limitations to every vehicle. very impressive run though. that dead stop and then go and make it to the top was astonishing...something almost NO jeep could ever do wrangler rubicon exempt :) lets not forget everyone that the land rover was in fact INSPIRED by the jeep sooooo, lets all just get along and have fun wheeling :-P nice video

  • Put locking diffs and good tires in Jeep Compass and it will do the last hill without any issues. :)

The video was great. But thinking that only one brand can do things like this is ridiculous way of thinking. Almost all cars are built mainly of same parts. The manufacturer is just building a brand around their products. In this case the same thing. Land Rover have managed to build a strong brand.

And yes, great vid, very nice Discovery 3.

  • Yeah, but do not forget that wrangler rubicon is a big box and all Land Rovers are good looking, fancy luxurious cars.

  • Has a jeep rubicon managed to get up the rock?

  • For some spotters, they put too much faith in a drivers reflexes, don't go up to 2.5 ton machine and try pull it to the ground,if things go wrong,it mess you up.(idiot in the hat)

  • I was thinking the same thing...that dude is an accidental death waiting to happen

  • That rock is 42°... You Jeep freaks must go learn what Land Rover stands for... As far as i know the Rubicon comes only with a centre diff lock... And the Disco3 with front, centre and rear... Even the Disco2 will kick a Jeep's arse!!

  • Thats the slogan ...

"Go Beyond" and Land Rovers really does that.

I have one Discovery3 HSE and it runs very good in *any* terrain since good roads to mud, soft sand and so on with the best: very very very confortably.

LR3 is the most complete off-road machine.

  • oviosly with diff lock...

  • Nice camerawork making that last hill look MUCH steeper than it actually was!!!

  • I don't know about you...but those trees looked vertical to me.

  • @2:06, the hill is 35°, @2:09 the hill becomes 50°+. Unless the British, now Tata Motors, came up with a way to turn off gravity, I'm not buying it. I've seen fully locker Wranglers get up some hills you can't walk up, but not 50°+.

  • nO mms... miS rEspet0s p eSta 4x4. siN duda la mEjOr, ninGuna jEEp ni fJ p0drIan hAcer esT0.

  • nice

  • cool! i like the disco 3!
