  • I've been to a lot of bars in Los Angeles and they never EVER use egg whites. Very disappointing. Also, the fact he uses bourbon is fascinating.

  • now make me drink while not looking pissed

  • lol

  • An honest question, I hope you will answer: is the egg white raw? If it is, wouldn't people worry about getting salmonella from it?

    Just curious, thanks!

  • @DyingElement Raw eggs are perfectly safe to consume. I personally will put some raw egg whites or even whole eggs in post work out smoothies. even if there is any bacteria, the contact with alcohol would kill it very quickly.

  • WORST

  • sorry master, there's a mistake at the recipe if the base is the pisco sour. The two drops of Bitter Angostura are added at the end over the top of the preparation. cheers for the rest.

  • Using all that ice is a bartender trick, so it takes less drink mixture, for the glass to look full. And yes he spills that fine bourbon, what a shame!

  • I love this guy's videos, but he mentions all of this drink's "liquors" twice. It's got whiskey, folks. That's all. Doesn't make it any less of a fantastic cocktail.

  • Would you use a whole egg white for each drink? Thanks.

  • @malthus101 you could get a few out of 1 egg

  • egg white makes this a Boston sour. dryshake before adding ice to create a bigger foam. Great drink!

  • There is no such thing as too much ice.

  • @shipit19 ice is a bartenders best friend... :)

  • This guy puts too much ice in the drink and spills too much alcohol.

  • @pennjersey83

What are you talking about? That's the perfect amount of ice and he doesn't spill a drop of your precious alcohol.

  • @NeatStar He splashes a ton of the whiskey all over the bar, you an even see him smile cause he fucked it just before the camera cuts away,

  • massive shake????????

  • does anyone else get pissed when they have their bartender do all this pointless shit to their drinks? i just want a whiskey sour, not a fucking show with pretty little things inside of it. as long as it tastes good i dont care how you did it or how it looks

  • @gsboss What the hell are you talking about? "this pointless shit..." That's how you're supposed to make the drink. Myles is THE man!

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ;)

  • whats the point of tapping the shakers bottom?

  • very nice video, well done.

  • This would get a great tip if a bar tender actually did this whole process for me. Thumbs up for needing more good bartenders.

  • You look very tense...

  • Buffalo Trace is so spectacular and it's not TOO expensive. Great video but I feel bad for the guy. He looks so depressed :-( I'll drink with him. Buy me a plane to Britain?

  • sour + old fashioned

  • This definitley doesnt look like the whiskey sours i get served up at when i go to the bars....this looks way better

  • @liedersk Agreed. It's so sad what "bartending" has become in the US. People barely old enough to drink who only know how to make faggoty varities of martinis and whatever the drink of the moment is. If you think what they do to a whiskey sour is bad, NEVER order an old fashioned unless you're at a bar where they have a stellar bar tender. I nearly committed suicide in front of a bartender just to make her feel bad & guilty the rest of her life for giving me her version of an old fashioned.

  • Sir your cocktail videos are among the best on youtube, but when using egg white if you really wan`t a nice froth it is advised to first dryshake the ingredients to get proper emulsification. Then ad ice and shake as usual.

    Cheers from Norway.

  • well in Peru we make Pisco sour and we also add egg whites... only difference the licquor...

  • @ kouradol2 stupid points.. you are clueless man...

  • Whiskey Salmonella

  • whiskey sour:

    lemon juice

    lemonade

    jd

  • @StrongDadGh umno.

  • Pineapple juice did not work for me... Any suggestions?

  • Beautiful waste of Buffalo there, numbnuts.

  • I don't remember there being eggwhite in sour drinks, but it's supposed to add a silky texture and a frothy head to a drink. I don't know too many american bars that actually use egg white in mixted drinks but it's probably more prevalent in higher end places. Is it more prevalent in English drinks (I'm just guessing from your accent)?

  • I LOVE THE SOURS ....

  • what the hell? egg whites? i didnt know that ca be in a drink.

  • such a wanna-be this guy

  • You sir, are the BEST.... But I will stick to my shitty 1oz whiskey and 2oz shit and sour formula! LOL

  • Should emulsify by dry shaking first. That egg really needs to mix well. Then add ice and shake. Bitters? In a Whiskey Sour? Never seen that before. Kind of makes it a sling cocktail instead of a sour.

  • @lamonight Always bitters in a sour.

  • @Reak55

  • @lamonight A sling is any base spirit, sweetener, and water. Sours do not contain bitters. cocktails in there original form were...a base spirit, sugar, water and bitters(Old Fashioned) Sours are spirits, sweetener, and sour. adding an egg is optional but adds a real nice texture to the whiskey sour. adding the bitters was just his rendition of the whiskey sour. Margarita, Daiquiri, Sidecar, are sours as well, but i would not use an egg in them. whiskey sour is the only one I make with an egg

  • great bartender, but dry shake to foam the egg white better, add the dash of bitters at the end after strain. i also would say there is 2 much sugar, me personally i do 30 mls lemon juice and 15 mls max of sugar as the drink is a sour so should be more sour...regards

  • I prefer 2 to 1 lemon to whiskey/bourbon. It just tastes better

  • He is rather messy spilling that whiskey everywhere. I like a classic cocktail to be made with a bit of sophistication and some time. Egg and bitters is essential. I agree with above, Egg should be emulsified with the alcohol without ice at room temp to create a better mix and foam. And served in a small rocks glass without ice to show off the foam.

  • Sorry you don't know what ur talking about.

  • I may not know what this guy is on about, but I know how I like my drink made. :)

  • Well maybe there are people who like tomatojuice in this drink? This shown here is how its made.

  • you can't tell how it "should" be done with regard to someone else's preferences

some people might like a little diarrhea water mixed in and you can't criticize their drink preferences

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA diarrhea water CLASSIC

  • Yeah your right, The drink he's made does look a bit like toilet water.

  • @TristansVid that is good, some people appreciate the classic fecal drink

  • @TristansVid

Ur A Total spaz toilet water? Get a life!!

  • if your using egg whites in drinks always shake without ice first, helps emulsify the egg white for a more smoother drink, and always add bitters at the end when the drink is complete...u gt better flavours from angostura bitters!!!!!!!

  • Egg and bitters is essential. I agree with above, Egg should be emulsified with the alcohol without ice at room temp to create a better mix and foam. And served in a small rocks glass without ice to show off the foam.

  • may u tell us why =P?

    I like his vids....

  • I have worked with Myles, and he is a great bartender; Though I wouldn't use this recipe; It's more like sugar with a touch of lemon.

  • Interesting, this is a vastly different version than your typical whiskey sour. never seen the egg white or bitters before.

  • This is magic

  • @gamerman001 You are missing the point of cocktails darling.

  • i though the guy sayd A SWITCH OF LEMOND, BUT HE GAVE MORE THAN ONE.

  • Good job but that is a rather complicated sour. The Sour traditionally has:

    1/2 of alcohol

    1/4 lemon

1/4 sugar sirup (or powered sugar)

I find the egg white optional.

But still a great example of bartending.

  • Haha nice spill there :D 0.30.

  • Brilliant! I wish all bartenders understood these techniques. This is what a customer is truly paying for! Fine work!

  • awsome vids m8

  • great job man the sour is my favorite thanks!!

  • good bartending smooth and fast and knows what hes doing. good job

  • Nice bar tending.

  • very smooth hands. nice.

  • bit of a spill there on the whiskey, though. not to be picky.

  • That is a bartender !!!

  • u r amazing!

  • he ain't playin either

we usually take 20ml single or 40ml double, he adds an extra 10ml!

    i like it!

  • these guy is a pro

  • it exactly fits in the glass!

  • Now THAT is a bartender.

  • hey you left citydrinking? Nice to see you back!

  • an egg white? for real?

btw where can i buy that syrup and the bitters?

and what exactly is the syrup? i didnt quite get it...

    thank you

  • I know, egg white sounds crazy but it creates a brilliant foamy texture. You can also use Pineapple Juice, but its not quite the same. Angustora bitters are available from any large supermarket. By syrup we mean sugar syrup, Monin or Giffard are the big brands, or you can make your own by filling an empty bottle about half to two thirds with demerera sugar and top up with warm water- not boiling as the bottle will shatter. Shake or leave to stand until sugar has disolved.

  • thanks my man!

    that's all i wanted to know :)

btw u got the best tutorials online, makes we want to sign up and learn how to mix!

how long does it take? can i do it over uni holidays?

  • @shakertv isn't technically a Boston Sour when you add an eggwhite?

  • The syrup you can make it on your own by boiling water and sugar...and the bitters he used it is called angostura and you can get it at the supermarket.

  • @lobzdik egg whites are very common ingredient in cocktails. There is no substitute.
