@jonerton15, you're somewhat on the right track however, the "accuser" in the case will either be the municipality, county, or state in which the said offense occured. The CCTV footage obtained from the camera will be submitted into evidence to supplement the Plaintiff's Complaint. You're right that the camera cannot aquire standing, but the real issue here is that the "accuser" is the municipatlity, county, or state which also cannot aquire standing absent injury, causation, and redressability.

Note: There was no one behind me when I switched lanes to turn. I said "okay" and remained quiet the entire time. He comes back with a $257 ticket! That is my paycheck! I broke down in tears not infront of him of course but that's my whole paycheck not to mention my car payment! I'm going to get a hearing but I feel that it is unfair that I should have to pay a ticket of $257 if I did not do anythink risky or dangerous, for a first ticket, thats an abuse.

Thanks! I found your recommendations helpful. I've only been driving for a year and have never received a ticket. Today on my way to college I was turning left on a busy road and I had just made that yellow light right before it turned red. The officer stopped me and asked if I knew why he was stopping me. I told him yes, I had just passed the yellow light before it turned red. He said no you ran the red light I saw you do it right infront of me.....

(1)Traffic tickets have no standing, PERIOD. If no individual rights were violated there can be NO crime.(2) the "state" is the body politic of its citizenry, simply put the cop on the stand and ask him the definition. the plaintiff(state) will strike the witnesses statements, & deem him non credible. This makes his ticket non credible too. Give us real defenses dude.

here in the US traffic tickets abrogate the very fundamentals of basic law of rights and remedies especially if no one is injured in any way shape or form. Elementary law provides that any claim made against any party must have substance behind it whether there being an injured party for who has a just claim, or there must be lawful contract with full disclosure that you willfully gave up whatever rights you had to subject yourself to frivolous 'laws' like traffic offenses. neither exist.

I had no idea you could ask for the officier's report prior to the court date. That would have been valuable to prepare for which I am doing in 2 days. Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Thanks for the info. =)

I got a red light ticket a few months ago in New York city by being pulled over by a cop. I postponed the first court date and my hearing is coming up in a few weeks. The thing is the cop mispelled my name on the ticket, my last name is Smith and he spelled it Spith. Is that a good enough reason to dismiss it?

i would recommend going to court for ALL photo red light/radar cameras. You have the right to face your accuser, a camera does not have standing in court

I like your vids but your presuming justice is to be had. In the US the Judge and officer benefit from the fines so by its very nature Traffic court is a "CONFLICT OF INTEREST" heavily weighed against the defendant. The officer has the choice of what proof can be offered to the court which also heavily prejudice a case. To be fair there should be sort of a jury of ppl given a few minutes to determine the outcome and see all evidence. One more thing never accept a pro-tem judge.
