  • This line may be revived if the Heartland Corridor gets up and running.

  • Heartland Corridor?

  • @ma7799 The Hoosier Heartland Corridor. It is supposed to run from Lafayette, IN to Fort Wayne, IN when finished. The Logansport-Lafayette stretch is scheduled to be done as late as 2013. Part of that stretch will straddle a Norfolk Southern main line, I'm told.

  • Horrible horn? Lol, that's a 3rd Generation PM920 with Leslie RS heads on it, and internal valves! excellent catch!

  • Is this is the old Pennsy mainline today?

  • yes it is

  • that two-three track mainline of the old Broadway LImited really has fallen apart! Conrail really downgraded that Pennsy track during the late 80's-early 90's.

  • @ConrailSD70MAC At least it is still somewhat intact compared to the PRR Panhandle across Indiana and Ohio.

  • @SkyhawkACE123 Yup it once hosted the Broadway limited and some other PRR fast passenger trains back in the day... Hard to belive, but some of them ran 100+ MPH on these rails.

  • @ConrailSD70MAC It would have to be.. What a shame from what it once was.

  • @ConrailSD70MAC

that would be correct..the former route of " The Broadway Limited" ..mainline used to be 70 mph Chicago to Crestline, Ohio

  • @ConrailSD70MAC

yup that would be it. A true travesty! The Broadway Limited used to go thru at 70+ MPH along a two track mainline.

  • I actually like the horn he's got on there.
