very true, s2ks are not cheap or easy to tune at all. I just finished up a clutch and flywheel swap on mine today, which puts me back $1000 for parts and lift rental fees, plus all the effort of finding every last bell housing bolt and transmission wiring harness lead (not as easy as you'd think) all for a slight throttle response gain, about equal to what you get from a cold air intake on a k series. If you're looking for a cheap and easy honda go k series or h22 lude
@benb50001 K20 build cheap? Yea right, it's really expensive to built the K20. If you do a K20 swap in a Eg Hatch or something the mounts alone are around $700.
@Bballpeter That's still cheaper than it would be to put an F series motor in your hatch back. Both B and K series engines are great for tuning because they respond very well to mods even if your budget only allows you to buy headers and and a short ram intake. If you don't believe me try tuning an s2k. its expensive even for very basic stuff.
@benb50001 Oh I know all about the K series and how great they are for tuning, I have a K series. I was just saying that it's not "cheap" but it is a great motor and responds well to even the little mods.
it is really not a straight line car......sooo many people will try to do so, no offense to the 10.0-11s s2k's, but they were not made for that purpose...
i love both cars! but which one is better to get?? s2000 or rsx-s?? ... its weird that i look at the rsx and i think its slow but i still like it. and i gave seen videos where it beats some fast cars. i guess cuz the s2k looks sportier. so which ones better to get??
s2000 2 seater convertable rwd car thats fast stock. rsx s fwd not very fast unless out alot of money into. i had the same problem but looked at raw facts and im going to purchase an s2k
It's true the bolts on for the RSX can be pricey, but the K20 has more potential than the f20 motor when it comes to bolt-ons. The f20 is pretty much maxed out. Pretty much the only thing worth doing to the s2k is single exhaust or turbo/SC which is pretty DAMN expensive. If you want to save money down the road, RSX is the way to go.
love it all my favorite cars rsx s, s2000, civic si :D
