I grew up in Tacoma Wash, and it was the height of the Black rights movement then. I was raised on the poor sides of town and with black music and loved it! It is still the best stuff out there.  Most rap today is just whining street music. When I was growing up it was the do-ops and harmonizing. They sang about love and heartache, and crossed all the color barriers with it. It was the one thing that brought the younger white and blacks together. Their music will live on forever.
