@sean00fl No power shifting on that one, didn't had time to try that a lot (no longer have the car) but I know that is the way to go with turbo cars (this eliminate the turbo lag)

@Danspeed3 it isnt impossible at all. you can youtube cobalts with stock turbo and everything running mid 12s with just a tune. 301 hp with 20 pounds of boost is weak man hahaha a turbo sentra is between 280 to 320 hp with 8 to 10LBS of boost. so yea ur car isnt very impresive to me.
@Danspeed3 ok i just txted my cousin with the turbo cobalt. his mods is intercooler, charge pipes. kn filter, catless down pipe, 3in exhuast and a tune. 350 360wtq but 320 330 whp at 22 psi. the guy who tuned my cousins car has 356 whp and 401 wtq and that is also a turbo cobalt. so there you go man.
@pFbSpecV: i have a test pipe, intake, bpv and a mild tune. i also have my resonators cut out, but i dont consider that a mod.
A super stock turbo is a stock turbo (K04 for my car) gutted, ported polished internals bigger compressor wheel and turbine wheel. ball bearing also. gives an extra 30 hp over stock turbo with NO other mods. check Protege garage . com
@yayapfool I no it won. What I meant was the Cobalt was so close behind and its not even a turbocharged engine like the ms3. All Cobalts after 08 i think are all turbo, and spank the ms3. Not hating on the car there both nice and I'd take either one.

This car would NOT be 200% better AWD. why? because it's selling point is a fast practical car for its price. You throw AWD in there and expect the price to increase in the thousands. It will turn out to be like the Mazdaspeed 6 which was pricey and I don't think may people bought. But yes it would launch better, but for a FWD I think it launches fine.
problem is you cant get that power down to the ground. the car would be comaprable to an STI if it had AWD. The other reality is, front wheel drive is terrible on the track...thats why you never see a proper sports car w FWD!!!

@oWASTINGTIMEo hahaha oh yes the turbo cobalt would by far. my cousin has a stock ss cobalt with just an exhuast. pushing 22 psi with 340 hp and 390 torque. everything is stock but the exhuast. all it needed was a tune. so yes cobalt would rock the mazda haha

a full turboback and a KILLER tune wouldnt give it OVER 100hp alone!
You would have to be FULLY bolted to do that!
The MS3 is one of the best cars that handle mods.
I have some mods to mine and a mild tune and am pushing 301 to the wheels @ 20LBS of boost.

@Danspeed3 it isnt impossible at all. you can youtube cobalts with stock turbo and everything running mid 12s with just a tune. 301 hp with 20 pounds of boost is weak man hahaha a turbo sentra is between 280 to 320 hp with 8 to 10LBS of boost. so yea ur car isnt very impresive to me.

IF you look at my car i HAVE FEW mods on my car!
pushing 301 isnt bad considering i dont have an aftermarket DP, intercooler or a hardcore tune.
I STILL BEAT EVOS, STI's and Cobalts running more mods than me.

@Danspeed3 ok i just txted my cousin with the turbo cobalt. his mods is intercooler, charge pipes. kn filter, catless down pipe, 3in exhuast and a tune. 350 360wtq but 320 330 whp at 22 psi. the guy who tuned my cousins car has 356 whp and 401 wtq and that is also a turbo cobalt. so there you go man.

YES, YOU CAN when youre FULLY bolted as your cousins car seems to be.
BUT just a tune on stock car as you said earlier WILL NOT bring it up that high.
IF I fully bolted my car and have what your cousin has on his, I will be The same IF NOT a higher amount or hp.
My friend is running, 442whp, FULLY bolted and a sick ass tune with upgraded internals and a SS turbo.

@pFbSpecV: i have a test pipe, intake, bpv and a mild tune. i also have my resonators cut out, but i dont consider that a mod.
A super stock turbo is a stock turbo (K04 for my car) gutted, ported polished internals bigger compressor wheel and turbine wheel. ball bearing also. gives an extra 30 hp over stock turbo with NO other mods. check Protege garage . com

@yayapfool I no it won. What I meant was the Cobalt was so close behind and its not even a turbocharged engine like the ms3. All Cobalts after 08 i think are all turbo, and spank the ms3. Not hating on the car there both nice and I'd take either one.

ms3 terrible off the line, cant get all that power down due to gear ratios in 1 and 2 and FWD. This car would have been 200% better with AWD

This car would NOT be 200% better AWD. why? because it's selling point is a fast practical car for its price. You throw AWD in there and expect the price to increase in the thousands. It will turn out to be like the Mazdaspeed 6 which was pricey and I don't think may people bought. But yes it would launch better, but for a FWD I think it launches fine.

problem is you cant get that power down to the ground. the car would be comaprable to an STI if it had AWD. The other reality is, front wheel drive is terrible on the track...thats why you never see a proper sports car w FWD!!!

true, but the speed 3 is smaller, more nimble, lighter and better balanced...a RWD speed 3 would be a great car. Front wheel drive was only invented so North american drivers could navigate safelty in the winters!!
