This is my first time hearing this song, and I instantly like it. Their hairstyles are pretty funky, but hey, even I crimped my hair in the 80's! It seemed like no matter what gender you were, you were doing that or teasing it to death or getting a jheri curl!
oh my god... this is a revelation! karl hyde and rick smith in their early eighties incarnation and it's like another world...! what a treat to see this!!
This is simptomatic it seems, almost every band that plays bullshit music these days did awesome music in the '80s, the story of my life, born to late, wrong place wrong time, pitty, i hope one day this kind of music will return. This is evergreen stuff!
Thanks so much for uploading this! I saw them at the Marquee around this time, but not sure if this was the gig - the layout's the same. If so it got so packed that I ended up sat on the edge of the stage leaning on a small guitar combo, looking up at the drummer - who inspired me for onstage shenanigans on tour a few years later. Awesome!
Anyone know when their last gig at the Marquee was? That was a doozy.
You're right. Enthusiasm is good. And it's probably just his style. My own preferred drumming style is way more reserved (e.g. Charlie Watts). But then again I'm not into stage presence.
Just bought Freur doot doot album on Amszon because of these videos on Youtube.(Only five left as of 03-04-07)Great stuff. And I mean this in a good way, they don't make them like this anymore.
wow... a lot of stuff suddenly makes sense... check out the nurses & when saints go machine..

Nice sound. But the drummer works way too hard for the low level of difficulty of this song.
Tralfaz2007 3 years ago
Why do you say that like it's a bad thing? He's getting into the song and you'd wish that amount of enthusiasm was displayed today...

he composes jingles for local welsh radio and often appears in the background of "the rovers return"

Saw them on French TV in 1983/84.
The group was AWESOME both in performance & look.
Bought the 2 LPs they made and still love this 1st version of Underworld.
