I've seen them play that song like 5 times live and the crowd explodes cause it's so high energy cause of the drums. So good choice. You nailed that one. The hi hat and rim shot stuff looks and sounds hard. I haven't ever tried that one. Too intimidated haha. Good job though. And your bass drum sounds fine to me.

theyre just different feeling, chain is outdated, and direct drive is modern technically

back in the day strap was the standard and chain was the cheap pedals... but then they changed the grade of chain and then double chain came because the average player now played heavier and was breaking old strap stuff... but now straps made of kevlar or similar material are popular again because of the light sensitive feel they have over chain..

even tho direct drive has always been the top of the line.

wow thats prolly the longest message someone has ever left haha did you consider writing a book about "drum pedals" ;-) Anyway, ye both my pedals are chain pedals, (Tama Iron Cobra and DW 9000), DW being, to me, the best choice! I also prefer chain pedals, I used to have a Pearl strap pedal and i have to say I didnt like the feel, just a matter of taste i guess.

yea im a drum tech and work at a music instrument store. im hoping to put out a few videos about technical drum stuff at some point... the whole chain v strap v direct is a combination of the music you're playing + feel preferance. i always think chain is too heavy, i have a tama iron cobra strap w/coil but im hoping to buy the new pearl demon drive, i got to borrow the only demo pedal for the US southwest for a studio sesh last week and when theyre in full production i want one

theres not a huge difference. coated tend to be warmer but i like to alternate between the two and i dont really notice a big difference
