i just finished episode two about an hour ago (yah way behind the times) and i have to say i havent really felt like that after a video game in a long long time. maybe ever. i just sat and watched the credits role and just took everything in. i was emotionally effected by the game and felt physically relieved and exhausted at the same time. half life in my opinion is the best pc game of all time and half life 2 was a perfect sequel. i cant wait for episode 3.
James Newell is absolutely one of the most innovative and respectable creators in the game industry. The quality of his work is reflected in his wonderful philosophies. He understands what is true and what is important in the industry. Thank God he didn't sell out to EA or Activision!

I think she'll become extremely brutal toward the combine, the expression will be depressed at first, then, when she has a shot at redemption, she takes immediately changing the expression to pure hatred.
@Qtoyghs I really hope Episode 3 focuses on that change into, well, what could be called a monster. Nothing could make a more interesting storyline and environment than seeing someone so caring and compassionate as Alex turn into an uncaring, revenge-driven phsycopath.
As far as I know Valve don't plan on ending the half-life franchise. They have no need to. They aren't being forced to stop it and it is regarded as one of the number 1 franchises of all time. And remember just because it doesn't have Half-life in the name doesn't make it not part of Half-life. Portal is a half-life game as well.
Valve make the best games ever, although i still think the orange box should have contained the origional half life with souped up graphics, half life 2 just feels more meaningful after completing the origional, also, i still think the origional is a better game than half life 2.
If you're interested in half life being more up to date with gameplay and graphics look a mod called Black Mesa. It's a recreation of Half life with a more modern feel and it looks very promising.
I know but you didn't specify that it's more than half life 1 using source engine.
It's half life 1 compeltely remade from scratch with much better art design and new textures new maps and new sounds and new 3d models.
Pretty much everything is remade from scratch to look like it should hav eif it was made now.
Valve already re released half life 1 on source engine, but they just converted everything from the old game and poured it into the source engine, which was more a proof of concept.

HL3 is already out, they just called it by a different name. HL2 Ep.'s 1 and 2, and the upcoming Ep. 3, are technically Half-Life 3. if you listen to the commentary in-game in Ep. 2, they'll say they could have gone with calling it HL3, but they decided use an episodic title for HL2, hence the Half-Life 2 Ep.'s 1-3.
i didn't want any game in the orange box. i DID buy hl2. then i got portal, then i got tf2...then episodes 1 and 2. I felt stupid. iasked valve for 30 buck (or however much money you saved back then) and they said no. man am i stupid. the lesson, children, is that all valve games are awesome and of you disagree they will not give you 30 dollars.
Still playing TF2... always finding a new server with better players.
Portal was fun, but I hope the sequel has some longer gameplay (and now since we're out of the test chamber, more challenging puzzles/"combat").
If HL3 is consistent as the other episodes, it'll be awesome too. I'm less worried about the future of HL as I am Portal (which has some amazing potential).

As far as I know Valve don't plan on ending the half-life franchise. They have no need to. They aren't being forced to stop it and it is regarded as one of the number 1 franchises of all time. And remember just because it doesn't have Half-life in the name doesn't make it not part of Half-life. Portal is a half-life game as well.

Valve make the best games ever, although i still think the orange box should have contained the origional half life with souped up graphics, half life 2 just feels more meaningful after completing the origional, also, i still think the origional is a better game than half life 2.

If you're interested in half life being more up to date with gameplay and graphics look a mod called Black Mesa. It's a recreation of Half life with a more modern feel and it looks very promising.

I know but you didn't specify that it's more than half life 1 using source engine.
It's half life 1 compeltely remade from scratch with much better art design and new textures new maps and new sounds and new 3d models.
Pretty much everything is remade from scratch to look like it should hav eif it was made now.
Valve already re released half life 1 on source engine, but they just converted everything from the old game and poured it into the source engine, which was more a proof of concept.

Now, it is black mesa, not black mesa: source anymore because Valve Corporation privately asked the producers of the mod to remove the "Source" part from the title to avoid confusion on whether it is an official Valve product or not

I always laugh from the morons who comment on Half-Life(ep3)/Gman theories (this vid included) it always gives me a chuckle.They're really stupid and make the dumbest comments/insults.

HL3 is already out, they just called it by a different name. HL2 Ep.'s 1 and 2, and the upcoming Ep. 3, are technically Half-Life 3. if you listen to the commentary in-game in Ep. 2, they'll say they could have gone with calling it HL3, but they decided use an episodic title for HL2, hence the Half-Life 2 Ep.'s 1-3.

i didn't want any game in the orange box. i DID buy hl2. then i got portal, then i got tf2...then episodes 1 and 2. I felt stupid. iasked valve for 30 buck (or however much money you saved back then) and they said no. man am i stupid. the lesson, children, is that all valve games are awesome and of you disagree they will not give you 30 dollars.

Still playing TF2... always finding a new server with better players.
Portal was fun, but I hope the sequel has some longer gameplay (and now since we're out of the test chamber, more challenging puzzles/"combat").
If HL3 is consistent as the other episodes, it'll be awesome too. I'm less worried about the future of HL as I am Portal (which has some amazing potential).

i was once going to a store to buy a game. and i saw the orange box. i knew for it before but i didn't have 10 dollars more to buy it! damn so i bought another game. But that night i could sleep because there was only one orange box left in the sore. So at the other day i got some money from parrents and i bought it! I was never happier in my life. And the fact that there are 120 copies of other games there and only one orange box left is preety amazing! I love valve! and i love half-life series

Well to me, it was the best game I played in all of 2007. I'm very grateful for Valve and I can't wait for Episode 3!

i was amazed at how good of a deal the Orange box was that i could not resist buying it. what is also awesome is that they inculded HL2, and Episode 1 with the box for free, which just magnified the significance of the deal. and im not even going to talk about the valves complete pack.... its just such a good deal for your money

I believe he was fairly "hands off" with a few of them. Like TF2 and Portal recently. I know he's involved in all the HL games, but CS?

turtle rock produced condition zero counter strike oppsing force and blue shift. Therefore valve brought rights to the game to publish it but not to create it
