I think it's Rimmer's ashes- the scene begins with the two of them dealing with the ashes of the rest of the crew, then they come to Rimmer's ashes.  He gives a big speech, gets upset and leaves and Lister puts the ashes in the case. He then goes on to put Kochanski's ashes in the thing and says a few words.
