How tall are you dude? If you're around six foot, i'm definitely getting the 650. I see more custom parts for that than the 1100 and i like the bigger wheel on the front (only an inch difference, but it just looks nicer). Is it sluggish? (it didn't look it when you took off)
Well, I work with people in the HD business, so most of those parts were either cheap, or free. Plus, there's not that much out there for custom 650 parts ;). Use whatever you can, make it look good, and have fun doing it!
Just a play on words. Most people think it's a 20k+ custom bike, when in reality I only have about $4500 into it which includes the price of the bike. Of course that doesn't include my labor hours.
This bike is probably one of THE cleanest Yam V-Star 650s out there! The S&S air filter/cover looks oh-so right! I've noticed more and more righteous bobbers and choppers built around Yam's V-Star 650s over the V-Star 1100s. Who says that you've got to spend 20K or more on a tight-looking custom? Ride metric!
Single carb conversion (Keihin CVK40), Dual Revtech coils, 21" Revtech chrome 3 spoke front wheel, Revtech front rotor, HD front fender, Chrome front end, modded gas tank with removed seams and dual gas caps, custom swingarm mounted rear fender with internal struts,
As far as i can see, he's got a custom seat on it, thats a fat-ass rear fender, not the stock one, custom 3-spoke wheel, bullet-style indicators, sounds like he's got a K&N Air-Filter on it, with the custom pipes and jetted carbs, custom light setup at the rear, he's also put an extra fuel-cap on the tank for some reason..
Thats awesome! Im looking to buy and customize the exact same bike and yours is exactly how I want it to turn out. would you mind telling me what exactly you did to it? in particular the sound? thanks a bunch from Vancouver island
Great bike, but loose the stock handle bars.

when you hit a bump, does the rear fender hit the seat? That actually sounds really good, check out my video of my 1100.

$4500? Good job. Very clean machine. Sounds great too when taking off. You're quite a big boy for a 650 though.

Part 2 of the mods list since it wouldn't allow so much in one post...
HD Deuce marker lights, custom seat, Headwinds headlight, handmade upswept kickout drag pipes, S&S air cleaner, side mount plate/tail lamp, chrome rear wheel cover, chrome rear brake plate, internal handlebar wiring, stainless braided cables, chrome side covers, HD horn, J-slam, Dyna 3000 ignition, CAM-LOCK cruise control, lots of powdercoating.
