  • Preaching your brand of supersition to those in desperate situations is very underhanded.

  • @DocUnsane How so? Most people would neglect these people, or worse, abuse them and enslave their children, but these missionaries are giving them hope and even helping them out physically too with school and medical clinics, etc.

  • @AboutMissions

Why don't you help them without coercing them to believe in your particular religion.

It is very opportunistic. People in this situation would believe anything you told them.

  • Doesn't that just look fun? I bet they have all the fun in the world

  • Why dont you want the poor to be free from poverty, disease and death. Jesus is a far greater gift to the poor than food. As christians should, I give away 10% of my monthly income and I have had no financial trouble even during recession. I even got a job that pays well when others were losing theirs. It is not about following any popular religion . It is a relationship with Jesus who is alive today.

  • this is light and hope to the slum dweller. it is good news not an agenda. that God loves the poor and remembers them.

  • Gods love for the poor is not a conspiracy. It is a fact. Suffering is in this world because of our sinfulness and rebelliousness against God. God will not interfere with our free will- our right to choose between right and wrong. This law is imprinted on our conscience. sin brings death. Christ sets us free from death, the price of sin, through his death on the cross.

  • @kingofthenight.. hunger of the body is fed by bread or chappathi.. hunger of the spirit, only by Gods love. JESUS is the way out of the misery and poverty that slum dwellers and all people experience. He gives hope and courage to outcastes to face their suffering. If you can fill the slum dwellers hearts with peace and hope - go ahead. Once you have done that come and share it with us. If not it is wise to keep silent.

  • This is pure bullshit, these guys are there to make money. India does nto need Jesus, they need clean water, food, shelter, and support of the government.

Missonary go to poor countries, one hand they give them water, and say jesus gave it to them. They are there to convert not to care, and provide means for them to survive on their own.

  • I feel bad for these people but why are they making all these kids, I mean there is no way a country can live on a high standard when its half of the size of US and has over a billion people, time for the goverment to induce a one child policy.

  • India needs to get rid off of their caste system, this is 2010 AD not 2010 BC.

  • Thank you Jesus. The Harvest is Great but the workers FEW!

  • listen to the poverty song of isolatedspirit

  • oh that is truly of india , even in mumbay the most modern city in india. but why most of bollywood movie shy to show the truly of india. if we look at the movie most of movie industry in india take setting in abroad ????? why not in india that is a reason ???????????????

  • unit45x,

Do you think India is much better off with a dose of Cultural Revolution?

Perhaps ending this permanent underclass cast system engineered by the Hindu Gurus?

  • The church wouldn't do this unless conversions took place. How shameful. Anyone can convert the poorest people with a little bit of money in their hands

  • You should take the time to get to know some of those Christians. See if they're not doing it out of the kindness of their heart. As it is, there are many Christian organizations that help the poor without spreading their religion. From the US, about $8 billion a year goes to that. For example, World Vision.

  • I'm actually a Christian Indian in the US and I think it's SHAMEFUL that you are infiltrating the Poorest Indian communities so that you can take advantage of them. Why don't you do this in PAKISTAN?!?!

  • If you are Christian, then I would think you believe that salvation comes through Jesus Christ. I'm not sure what the problem is. These people are just loving their neighbors by helping them physically and telling them of a God who loves them. They simply want to help them each way they can. Should they only share their faith without helping them physically? There are ministries in Pakistan too.

  • thank you for using your 8 billion dollars on people who survive on 1 dollar a day. What is the difference between you and the Han Chinese occupying tibet and destroying their culture? Salvation, sir, does not come from worshipping an Israeli historical figure.

  • I'm not an expert on Tibet, but I would think the Han Chinese have killed, jailed, and ruled over the Tibetan people, while destroying their culture. Christians in Asia have not killed, jailed, ruled over Asians or destroyed their culture. In addition to that, Christians are usually targeted for violence and suffer in Asia for their faith. If you pay attention to the video, you'll see there are no foreigners sharing the Christian faith. They are all native believers.

  • @HindiReader

These people have no culture they are known as untouchable YOU have taken their culture and history away not when they have chance of hope, hope of help than you are having problems that why these people are getting education and medical treatement?

  • @AboutMissions

Why can they not just help ? why tell them about Jesus, true as a christian you are required to teach of jesus, but are you not doing double talk, on one hand you help them and than you say jesus or god loves you. In essence I belive the missionary are doing good work, and the world do need people like this, but do it straight from the pure heart, not with hidden agenda.

  • india, the land of SLUMDOGS!

  • its sad india spends billions on there military they have a huge budget even building an aircraft carrier what a waste they could build houses and food

  • whos to say these evangalists are any better in helping the poor in the slums all trying to make their own riches and convert others to the gospel

  • Don't worry. All these pakies are moving to Canada!

  • These Christian evangelists are even scamming the poorest of the poor for what ever rupees they have. Was in India when Benny Hinn showed up for one of his prayer concert shows. What a phoney and he took money from these desperate souls.

  • that's not what these missionaries do

  • They will be millionaires one day you know,

  • yes yes yes... hahahahaha

  • It's Mumbai not Bombay.

  • there is also bombay!!

  • not is, but was. I'm not denying the name "Bombay." I'm just stating the fact that it's currently known as Mumbai, not Bombay. I'm sure Sri-lankan would mind if I kept calling his country Ceylon.

  • the hell i care.. bombay...

  • Then why did you respond? Ignorance truly is bliss huh

  • right right right.... hahahaaha

  • Conflicts how? These people are not out to do harm to others! If someone chooses to accept Christ thats their choice. The only conflict that will emerge is when others of non-peaceful views harm the Christians. Examples are found in North India, Indonesia, and many Islamic nations. Christians don't harm them why do the others cause the conflict. It's the other nations who need to be more excepting, not those with freedoms from mainly Christian populated nations who take in immigrants.

  • I agree what is this? These people have a religion already, just because its not your god it doesn't mean that its not god ... just because you can't convert people who know better you have to pray on the poor and uneducated ... if you want to help people do it because you care not because you are trying to convert people because you feel it will help you in the after life, very selfish if you ask me.

  • People don't typically become evangelists or missionaries because there is some profit for them. They do it because they have had an incredible experience of salvation and the forgiveness of sins and so they want to share this new found love with others. There are many easier things Christians can do, but they choose to live lives of sacrifice. The message of Christianity is spread because Christians care about other human beings, just as Jesus cared for them, enough to die for them.

  • I still don't think you need to bring relegion in to it at all, i have nothing aginst christians and i understand that you want to help. it just seems like the missionay does this make them selves feel better and its not right.

  • it will only cause more conflicts...Christians, leave India alone!

  • what the hell is this? Leave there religions alone. Hinduism is India's main religion and it is our way of life they don't need any other religion in India

  • Many feel this same way, but let me ask something. Would it be right to say Christianity is America's main religion and other religions aren't welcomed here?

  • no, your right but what im saying is that, don't start teaching the indian people other religons because they pride themselves in hinduism. ANyone can practice whatever they want but they shouldn't make others practice it too.

  • I wouldn't want Rome to be anything but catholic, nor would i want mecca to be anything other than muslim, and yes these countries should reject foreign contaminators. Don't think you are holier than thow by bribing the poor into your cult

  • I see what you're saying and many have similar sentiments, as you can tell from other comments here. So, does that mean that you don't want Mumbai, Delhi, and Calcutta to be anything but Hindu? What about the Muslims living there? What about the Sikhs living there? What about the, yes, even Christians living there?

  • Rome is mostly Catholic now and Mecca is mostly Muslim now, but at one time Rome was pagan and Jewish and other religions, while Mecca was once pagan and Jewish and Christian. Were those conversions justified? All religions start at one place in the world and begin to spread. Should that expansion not happen? Should people never share philosophies with one another? Do you believe that anti-conversion laws should be in place worldwide? Maybe you don't believe in the freedom of relion?

  • What right do you living in America have to tell a Dalit in India that he can't become a Christian? That's similar to someone in Indonesia telling me that I can't convert to Islam. What right does he have to tell me that?

  • Please don't think that I'm trying to knock you down. You can't tell from the text, but I don't have a sharp tone of disdain in my voice, as some might think. I would love to sit down with anyone in person to talk about this, but I just want people to think through the situation and be aware of any flaws in their argument or possible prejudices they have.

  • India is a young and poor country, we don't need religious conversions right now. Come back when our country is a developed nation, otherwise you are merely preying on innocent victims. Come back when our people are educated and well to do and see if THEN they will be willing to convert. Otherwise we hold the same contempt for you as we did the british.

  • Hindi Reader, what would you have said to Mother Teresa, an obviously religious figure? Love our lepers when we're more developed? Help our orphans when our GDP is the highest in the world? Have you any idea how many Hindus are secretly worshipping the living Lord Jesus? stop judging others with communal eyes...Conversion of religion is paperwork, conversion of the heart and the soul- now thats another thing all together.

  • Get to know Jesus- He is alive and active even today and keep your money for yourself...this is a question of eternal life vs eternal damnation. Sharing the good news of Salvation is a very very urgent matter..its not a matter of personal convenience..people are dying everyday!! what gives u the right to decide that they needn't be saved from hell? do you think salvation of ur soul is a joke?! u shockingly assume that the poor are incapable of making intelligent choices. India is SECULAR!!

  • @demotee

No he is not he is a myth. YOU need to repent your beilf in Jesus will truly land you to eternal burning in the fires of hell. YOU will burn in hell if you believe in jesus. I pray you repent your Jesus myth... do it before it is too late.

  • great work! bless u and ur ministry, will keep u in prayer :)

  • Sikhs are native to india. Indian islam is also unique to india. Nowhere else in the muslim world do you have any building as grand as the taj mahal. You should be sensitive to the fact that Indians aren't very keen on white people preying on our fellow Indians. Also you should be aware that one of the major political party's in India (BJP) would mandate the illegality of religious conversions. This is a very contentious subject to Indians and you should know this.

  • The Congress won a second time with a resounding majority :)) now u know why!

Pls understand- one of the original 12 apostles of Christ - Thomas (not some quasi religious white fanatic) brought the religion of God's undying love to India..think about it, 12 men braved all kinds of persecution and travelled the world in that ancient time to spread the Gospel of Peace!! Thomas came to Kerala and was martyred in Madras. He willingly gave his life for the good news! We cant keep Jesus to ourselves
