It depends if you want a higher maintenance pet. This type of fish wastes a lot and needs frequent water changes and a huge fishtank to live in since they grow very large at a fairly fast rate... You need at least a 20 gallon tank for just one.

Now he's living in a big fish tank with a new little baby ryukin :) I can't wait until they reach full size! I had an oscar for 5 years and she was a very fun pet to watch grow. They are so incredibly smart!

Yeah, I used to have a gold fish, then I found a 25 Gallon tank in my basement. I now have a nice sand, Rocky structure with a Algae Leaves here and there, I have 8 Fish and 1 Cray fish.

5 Fish are minnows
2 Fish are algae eaters
1 Fish is a betta fish (blue)
1 Fish is a creek cump
and The cray fish is a blue "lobster"

They need at least 10 gallos for each goldfish!
As siin as the ammonia spikes in that bowl he'll be a goer for sure :(

FYI I know tons about fish. They are my hobby. As long as you change the water DAILY they are fine.
